KAYLA'S POV
I shot up out of a dead sleep and was immediately sent into a panic attack.
I yanked the blanket off of my body, and stood up.
the room around me seemed familiar, almost like I remembered it from a dream.
I opened the door quietly, to reveal a short landing. there was a door on each side of the one I was at, & stairs to the left.
i took a risk, and cracked open the door to the right.
it was a simple room with just a bed and a dresser. the bedding was slightly ruffled, so I inferred that I wasn't alone.
I closed the door quietly and tiptoed to the third door.
the doorknob was cold, and my heart was pounding as I slowly opened the door.
I saw a crib, a changing table, a dresser, and the walls were painted like a jungle; but no baby.

"where the fuck am I?" I whispered aloud.

I didn't even like kids.
I closed the door, and slid down the wall, as tears began to fall.
I sobbed quietly as I thought about what to do. I was so scared.
suddenly I heard footsteps.
my muscles clenched up in fear and I was unable to move.
tears poured from my eyes.

"Kayla?"

Kayla.
that was familiar. I knew that name.
I slowly looked up to see a gorgeous man with shoulder length black hair, and tons of tattoos.

"is that my name?" I asked quietly.

"oh honey," he said, pulling me up into a hug.

I breathed in and the smell of his shirt rang a bell.
I knew that smell, and it comforted me beyond words. I melted into the hug, still sobbing.

"kellin" I said aloud, as I suddenly remembered his name.

"you know my name?" he pulled away, and his face was bright with a dazzling smile.
I smiled at the progress, and he pulled me in for another hug.
I noticed a small white stain on the shoulder of his black t-shirt.

"oh my god, Bryce. I understand the nursery now. Bryce. Bryce is our baby right? where is he?"

I suddenly began to panic and tears flowed freely once more.

"Kayla calm down."

kellin said slowly, looking into my eyes.
his gaze slowed my heart rate, and I simply nodded in reply.

"my bestfriend Jesse, and your bestfriend Ashley took Bryce for a few days. i thought it would be good for you to get the feel of being home without the added stress. do you remember them?"

the image of a cute short woman with a curvy body, long curly brown hair, and a beautiful complexion entered my mind. I immediately imagined the image of her standing next to a handsome man, who was fairly tall, and had red hair and and tons of tattoos.
the memory was from their wedding day.

"April 26th, 2009." I said quietly.

"what?" kellin asked with a perplexing expression.

"their wedding day. I remember it." I smiled.

"holy shit! this is awesome!"

kellin yelled while pulling me in for the third hug this morning.
I relished in the feeling of his toned body, and his long arms around me.

as we pulled away I noticed a flash out of the corner of my eye.
searching for the source, my gaze met a huge, intricate diamond ring on the fourth finger of my left hand.

only one ring.

"we.... we aren't married?" I questioned quietly.

"you always said that being engaged was more than enough for you. in fact, your exact words were 'I know I'm going to spend forever with you, what difference does a piece of paper make?' but we can get married at any time baby, any time."
