Chapter 1: Mistake

-Aphmau's POV-

"Take that stupid shadow knight and kill him!" I heard a strong, deep voice yell.

I was visiting O'Kasis to try and find a way to see an old friend. It has been many years since I last saw him. I didn't have much hope of seeing him again after what happened the last time I saw him. Suddenly I was snapped out of my thoughts by a painful yell and laughter. I turned around to face the noise to see a large crowd. It seemed like something bad was going to happen the that poor Shadow Knight. Don't get me wrong, I hate Shadow Knights after what they did to him, but I never want to see anyone in pain. I let my curiosity take control and I walked closer listening to what was happening.

"I-I'm sorry! I promise I won't hurt anyone!" A boy cried.

"Heh, like anyone could trust you. You're just like the rest, a terrible, monstrous, mistake!" One of the guards taunted.

"Now that's to far." I thought to myself as I pushed through the crowd. I have never done anything like this, I felt like I needed to help this boy.

"Stop! Don't hurt him!" I screamed.

"Stay away Ma'am. This boy is a monster." Someone warned.

"What did he even do! Just don't hurt him!" I yelled again.

"Haha, poor girl doesn't know what this boy is capable of." A guard laughed.

I heard something get thrown and another yell from the boy.

"Stop it!" I screamed this time getting pushed into the center of the crowd now able to see this "mistake".

No.
It's not..

"L-Laurance?"

"Aphmau.."

I looked into his eyes, this is him. Same Brown hair and blue eyes I lost years ago. And he is getting killed.. I'm not letting them take him again, but I don't have a plan. There isn't a way of getting out of this..

"You know this boy?" An annoyed guard yelled out. "Take her away too! She could be one of them."

"Wait! She isn't a shadow knight! She didn't do anything just take me!" Laurance cried. He kept struggling to get out their arms, but it was no use.

Guards came up behind me and grabbed both of my arms holding me up. "W-wait, I'm not a shadow knight! He is just a friend!" I yelled.

"Sure, little girl." A guard that was holding me up laughed.

"I'm 18!" I mumbled.

I tried my best to free myself from their grip, but nothing worked. Stupid strong guards! I looked over to Laurance, he was looking down at the ground like he was trying to focus. I looked into his eyes, they kept flashing to red then back to blue. I'm going crazy.

"Execute them!" A guard in fancier armor yelled out. They started to drag us away from the crowd.

I looked at Laurance again and he turned his head to face me and mouthed "I'm sorry" as tears fell from his eyes. He turned away again. What happened to him? Why is he called a monster? Why is he getting killed? Suddenly a bright light filled my vision. When the mysterious light faded Laurance was out of the guards arms and was infront of them ready to fight then. He kicked one of the guards that was dragging him, to the ground. The other guards let go of me and got read to attack Laurance. He quickly defeated almost all of them, but I even could tell he was exhausted. I ran and grabbed his wrist and dragged him out of the battle. I managed to look back at him while running and say his eyes slowly fading from red to blue again. I didn't have time to sit and ask him questions so I faced forwards again and lead him through an alley way then into the forest out of O'Kasis boundaries. I pulled him behind a bush as the remaining guards finally caught up looking outside the gates. I knelt down and motioned for him to do the same. Soon the guards ran back inside the Village gates and I stood up and grabbed Laurance's hand again. I ran him deeper into the forest hopping to get away. I ran until I could feel Laurance pulling my wrist back, which I guess meant he couldn't run anymore. slowed down and I turned to him.

"Where did you go Laurance after I left you! You never came back its has been three years!" I yelled tears coming to my eyes thinking about what happened. "And why were those guards calling you a Shadow Knight?" I looked into his eyes.

"I-I'm so sorry.." He whispered as tears started to stream down his face.

"You idiot..." I ran up to him and wrapped my arms around his waist engulfing him into a hug. He was shocked at first, then wrapped his arms around me.

"I missed you.."
