-Aphmau's POV-

"When I woke up, I was in a forest. Which was very exciting since I hadn't seen on in years, I kept walking until I found O'Kasis. I got in the village without any trouble, but when I was in I heard a Lady yelling for help, so I went to help. Turns out a guard from O'Kasis was attacking her just for being up past curfew the night before. I don't know why, but I-It got me upset and the rest really was a blur..." Laurance paused and looked down and the floor. We were in Cadenza's house at the dining room table explaining everything to her. Well, Laurance was doing most of the talking.

I sat across from him next to Cadenza. I reached out my hand and placed it on his which caused him to look up at me. I simply smiled at him and he continued.

"Next thing I know I had a red sword, the guard was on the ground holding his arm and the women was staring at me terrified. She yelled again and more guards came and tied my hands together behind my back, taking me I'm guessing to the jail. Until, Aphmau saved my butt." He laughed a bit which made me smile.

"You two have had a very big day today haven't you? Well, you both have to stay here at least for tonight. I'm not letting you guys leave again!" Cadenza playfully teased us. Laurance and I nodded and laughed. "I have some beds upstairs for guests. it's getting late and you too have had an eventful day. I suggest getting to bed." Cadenza gave us a warm smile.

I gave a small nod and thanked her. I walked up the stairs with Laurance following close behind. I reached the top of the stairs and saw rows of clean, fancy beds.

"Woah..." I mumbled as Laurance chuckled at my reaction.

I ran up to the bed in the back corner closest to the stair way. I fell backwards on the bed giving an over exaggerated sigh. I slowly sunk deeper into the bed, not wanting to get up. It this made this day ten times better. "I don't know about you Laurance, but I'm exhausted from today. I'm going to head to bed." I yawned as I sat up to get into the bed properly. Laurance walked up to me and to my supprise, wrapped his arms around me.

"Goodnight Aphmau, thank you." He whispered. I was shocked at his actions, therefor I didn't respond in anyway.

"A-Aph.." I managed to spit out. He pulled away and gave me a confused look. "Don't call me Aphmau, just call me Aph." I gave him a small smile and he nodded. He walked over to his bed and laid down. I did the same and slowly felt myself drift off to sleep.

I heard footsteps and I immediately opened my eyes. I laid there still with my heart racing.

Who is here?
Why are they here?
What do I do?

I heard more shuffling of feet, eventually what ever was here went downstairs. I sprung out of bed to wake up Laurance, but he wasn't in his bed.

At this point I was a mess. I was terrified of what could be happening until I heard the front door open and close. I silently tip-toed down the stairs and sprinted to the door. I looked through the small windows of the door and saw a figure walk forward with their shadow dancing behind them as the moon shone bright. The figure turned and faced the door as their crystal blue eyes stared straight into my hazel ones. I ducked down my back facing the door. As I heard the sound of footsteps fade I let out a heavy sigh. I peeked my head slightly above the window to look again and the figure walking into the forest near the water. I slipped out the door and quietly headed after them.

Meteli was actually quite pretty at night. Besides the moon and the lamp posts, there were plenty of FireFlies lighting up the town aswell. The figure had stopped when they got the the shore and they sat done. I slowly crept closer to try and identify the person. A firefly flew in front of me and shown enough light for me to see some of what the mysterious person looked like.

"Laurance?"

"Aphmau?!" He jumped as I broke the silence causing me to laugh. "What are you doing here?"

"Same for you." I replied laughing a bit.

"I-I don't know... I just needed to relax I guess." He sighed and looked back out at the ocean.

"What's on your mind?" I asked plopping down next to him.

"A lot, but it's nothing im-"

"If it's affecting you it's important to me." I cut him off. He turned a light shade of pink and turned away trying to hide his face.

"A-Am I a mistake?" He stuttered turning back to face me. He was still blushing a bit, and his eyes glistened as he tried to hold in tears.

"Laurance of course not! Who made you think-"

"I'm a shadow knight, one of the most hated types of magicks users. We kill senselessly and don't care who we hurt to be the best..." He paused and looked back out at the ocean.

"Y-You killed someone?" I was taken back at what he had said... Laurance would never..

"NO!... N-no, I'm not a full shadow knight, I would have to kill someone I care for to become a full Shadow Knight. " He seemed tense replying this time.

"I'm sorry that.. This has all been hard.. We just need to get through it together." I grabbed his hand and held it.

"Thank you, Aph." He lifted up our hands and intertwined our fingers together. I felt my face get warm as he smiled at me. We both sat there just smiling at each other.

How could anyone call him a mistake?

A small light flew in front of us breaking the moment. I came back to reality and saw what looked like hundreds of fireflies flying above the ocean.

"Woah.." Laurence mumbled. I laughed at his reaction.

"I know right?" I sighed at the amazing sight.

A fireflies kept zooming past us, I eventually reached out to grab one. I shut my fist tight, but making sure there was space for the little bug if I had caught it. I opened my fist expecting to see a small glowing light, but instead I saw nothing. Laurance started laughing as soon as he saw what had happened.

"H-Hey!" I stuttered embarrassed.

"Let me see your hand." I nodded and as he grabbed my other hand holding it out. A slow firefly came passing by and Laurance lifted my hand up to create a small area for the bug to land. As soon as the bug landed on my hand Laurance let go. "There you go." He laughed.

I pulled my hand down for me to look at. The little bug would occasionally glow while resting on my hand. "It's so cute!" I squealed. The poor bug immediately flew off my hand as I started to squeal which caused Laurance to laugh again. After he calmed down he sighed and began to speak.

"It's getting late, we should go back to Cadenza's." He gave me a sad smile.

"Can we stay for a little longer? Look how pretty it is tonight."I wined.

"Okay, fine! Only because I don't want to have that Vincent guy finish his interrogation with us from earlier." He laughed and look towards the ocean.

The moonlight shone on his face making it easier to see him. He had a small smile as he watched the fireflies zoom around. He doesn't look that different from the day he was taken away. Even if he did, no one could ever forget his eyes. I yawned and laid my head on his shoulder. He turned to me and gave me a smile to reassure me that he was fine with it. Soon I felt myself quickly drifting off to sleep again.
