-Aphmau's POV-

(I didn't reread to catch any errors)

"Woah.." Laurance breathlessly mumbled.

We both sat there not daring to move. Both lost in each other's eyes. His eyes were always hard to read. Usually it's easy to tell what someone is feeling by their eyes, but Laurance was different. He does a great job of hiding his emotions, until he is at his breaking point. A light blush showed up on his tear stained cheeks which caused me to react the same.

"Come on Aphmau! You can't hide up here for- Oh!"

Cadenza

Laurance and I turned to face her. She was beaming while standing at the top of the stairs. I gasped as she laughed.

"C-Cadenza! U-Uh hey.." Laurance smiled in embarrassment and pulled his knees up to hide his face.

"Well, since you're both awake we can have breakfast." Cadenza motioned for us as she walked down the wooden stairs. I could tell by the huge grin on her face she was mentally fangirling.

I shook my head and laughed. She hasn't changed at all. I heard her downstairs squealing with excitement.

"Ugh.."

I turn to face Laurance who still was hiding his face.

"Are you okay Laurance?" I tapped his shoulder concerned.

"Yeah, I'm fine. I just have a headache." He  lifted his head to give me a small smile to show me he was okay.

"I could go into town and-"

"No. I-I mean no, I'm okay. I'm just hungry." He sprung out of bed to the stair case. He stopped and met my gaze, like he was telling me to come with him. I nodded again and followed.

...

"So Laurance, what was all that yelling about?" Cadenza asked as we ate breakfast at the table.

"It was n-nothing. Just a bad dream, that's all." He said tearing off a piece of bread and eating it.

"About?" Cadenza motioned her hands queuing  him to continue.

"Like I said, it was nothing. I don't remember it anyways."

Cadenza's reaction to him snapping back to her wasn't how I thought it would go down. Instead of like they used to fight by ending up laughing and calling each other names, she gave him a completely foreign look. I've never seen her look at someone this way, it was a look of sympathy and love. It was depressing to see really.

"Well, I will be out and about today taking care of the village. You guys should look around, a lot of things have changed since you both have been here." She stood up smiling.

"Out and about? No one says that anymore." I laughed.

"Now someone does." She beamed as she walked out the door.

Silence fell upon the room. Awkward or comfortable, I don't know. We kind of just sat there eating our breakfast in silence.

I knew there was reason Cadenza played off Laurance's response so well. She knew something, like she knew exactly what was wrong. I mean, I've read some books on shadow Knights to try and get Laurance back. I traveled to where ever there had been sighting of shadow knights, but it was never known what the shadow Knights where really like. Since they either escaped or where "taken care of". Maybe he just needs to get used to being in this realm.

"Hey Laurance!" I squealed causing laurance to flinch. "Since we haven't been in Meteli in a while, want to go look around?" I watched as his once confused face faded to a small smile.

He stood before speaking. "We should get going then." Before I could respond he ran up grabbed my hand and yanked out the door.

"Wait Laurance!" I tried pulling back so he would let go, but nothing worked.

As he was yanking me all around Meteli with a smirk on his face, I was glad he was feeling better. After about five minutes he stopped. He turned to me and smiled.

"We're... Here.." He managed to spit out in between panting. I laugh and looked at my surroundings. It was a path with cute, little market stands around it.

They're were adults and children scattered around the scene. I began to drag Laurance down the path as he groaned. I scanned over the many booths until I spotted the one I needed.

"Laurance!" I gasped. I pointed to a booth filled with flower crowns.

"Aphmau. No."

"Yeeess?.." I looked up at him and he rolled his eyes.

It was my turn to lead him around. I avoided crashing into running children and the parents distracted my all the booths. I stopped at the booth covered with different flowers making it very noticeable. I looked at all the varieties of colors until I felt a small amount of weight on my head. I turned to Laurance and tilted my head.

"It's a purple flower crown. I-uh thought it would look nice on you." He smiled.

I laughed at his mood change. I turned to the booth and grabbed a crown that was covered with orange flowers. I plopped it on top of his head. He rolled his eyes and smiled at me again causing me to laugh.

"You two are very cute together."

We both flinched at the women's voice and turned back to the booth.

"Oh-um.. We aren't together." I gave her a small smile.

"Oh sorry, I thought that since you were holding hands.." she laughed walking to another customer.

I looked down and realized Laurance and I still haven't released each other's hand. I looked up at him to see him do the same. His eyes stared straight into mine for the second time today. A small smile rested on his face as we just stared.

"Hey Laurance?"

"Yeah?"

"You have very pretty eyes."

Hello I haven't been here in a while! This book isn't continuing, just if I have an idea. I found half of this chapter written from when I was still updating this story and I decided to finish it :) also I still don't watch Aphmau, but keep me updated on Laurance 😂
