-Aphmau's Point Of View-

I saw him tense up by my suggestion. He always tried to get away from Meteli, but he couldn't stand to leave his few friends he considered family. Well, the family that helped him out a lot. situation came up a lot in our conversations when we were younger.

"A-Aphmau.. I don't know-"

"You shouldn't live in fear of that place Laurance. It was your home, don't let other people ruin that for you." I cut him off. He hasn't met many kind people there. Except Hayden and Cadenza of corse. He simply nodded as a response before an awkward silence washed over us.

"How is it?" He blurted out.

"I haven't been there for at least a year, but everyone seemed alright." I gave him a comforting smile. He gave me a small nod.

"Do you know how to get there from-uh.. Where ever we are?" He gave me a small grin and I laughed.

"I think so, here follow me." I reached up and grabbed his hand and pulled him along with me.

He laughed and I ran him around the forest. I am good at remembering directions, it's something I have always been good at. I would always have to guide Laurance around the forest until he remembered on his own. I was constantly pulling Laurance to different side trying to avoid any falling and injuries just like old times. I kept darting around the forest trying to remember the quickest way to reach Meteli. This might take us awhile..

...

We were so close, only a few minutes now. I began to run faster, but I was pulled back.

"Laurance? What's wrong?"

"A-Aphmau, I-I don't think we should go around here.." He stuttered.

"Come on Laurance you can't be scared of this place forever." I sighed and laughed. "There is nothing to be afraid of. Besides, you have me with you." I smiled at him and intertwined my fingers with his. I looked up at him and saw him smiling, and blushing? I shrugged it off and kept walking.

We made it to the gates of Meteli short after our last conversation. We had to enter through a small cave, that had a sign reading 'Meteli'.
I was still holding Laurance's hand, but I wasn't dragging him anymore. To be completely honest it gave me a secure feeling. We reached the end of the cave ready the go into Meteli unseen, but of corse that didn't happen. A guard stepped in front of us blocking the path.

"What brings you too here?" His voice boomed.

"Well, it's actually a long story, but-" I looked up to see his face, he looked like a normal guard until I reached his eyes. Bloodshot.

"Is there a problem Aphmau?" Laurance laughed nervously. I quickly shook my head no and avoided eye contact with the guard.

"W-we are H-here to see Lady Cadenza." I said slowly feeling my confidence returning.

"Fine, I will go- wait... Which one of you are the magic user?" He gave us a glare.

"W-What? Why would you think we were magic users?" I gave Laurance a look signifying that I didn't know how to respond.

"I know one of you use magic, don't try lying." The tone of the Guard's voice became more serious than before.

Laurance and I stood there not knowing what to do. Laurance wasn't responding and neither was I. Shadow Knights are clearly not liked and no telling what would happen to Laurance if this guy found out.

"Vincent? Where have you been! I have been look- APHMAU?" A familiar voice chimed in. The fireiry Red, Ombréd haired,
girl came running down the path in front of us. She came speeding up to me with her arms wide open for a hug.

"Lady Cadenza!" The guard who is called Vincent ran out of her way before he got trampled on over of her excitement. When Cadenza reached me I immediately hugged her back.

"I can't believe you finally came to visit! You have no idea how- wait..." She stopped herself and stepped away from my looking Laurance up and down. "N-No way.." Her mouth was wide open out of awe.

"C-cadenza.." Laurance mumbled before they were both just staring at each other. Laurance broke the peace by engulfing Candenza in a hug. She was shocked at first, but eventually wrapped her arms around him.

"B-But you w-were.. Aph s-said-"

"I'm here.. I'm okay." Laurance cut off Cadenza before she could finish. She laid her head on his shoulder.

As expected Candenza started crying. She is just as emotional as when we were kids. I smiled at their reactions of seeing each other again.

"He sure did keep his promise." I thought to myself.

"LAURANCE ZVAHL! YOU HAVE A WHOLE LOT OF EXPLAINING TO DO!" She yelled pushing him out of the hug.

Laurance just smiled while rolling his eyes and nodded. Cadenza gave a small smile and looked at Laurance again. She seemed so happy to finally get to see him again. It was sweet to watch.

"Sorry to interrupt, but know them M'lady?" Vincent butted in.

"Of course I do! How could I ever forget them!" She huffed turning to face Vincent. "Come on, you both have a lot to tell me!" She said walking down the long path leading to the village motioning for us to follow

Laurance smiled and shrugged and grabbed my hand again. He caught me off guard which caused me to blush. Come on Aph!

"Ready?" He whispered.

"Ready."

And with that we ran after Cadenza.
