Sigh.
Scroll. Scroll. Scroll.
"Are you just going to fricken ignore the fact that he's online?!" Shaira exclaimed exhasperated.
School was suspended for the day, apparently there was a storm. But Shaira being the kind of person who can't stand doing nothing showed up in my front step partially soaked squeaking out a "Hi".
"Ugh. It'd be awkward with you here" I huffed, glancing back at his name that had a green dot beside it, allowing me to know he was online "I wont look, I swear" she promised "Mhm... I'll believe that when I see pigs fly" I replied as I scrolled through my News Feed more. She huffed out an annoyed breath before that shit eating grin of hers --remember what I told you about it?-- appeared. I looked at her curiously, seeing her glance at my phone. My eyes widened figuring out her plan "Ah shit" I swore when she snatched my phone running out of my room. I quickly ran after her but I heard the familiar slam of the bathroom door making me groan out loud "She's my favorite friend of your you know?" my brother sing-songed, a knowing smirk on his stupid face "Shut up" I groaned. He shrugged before holding his hands up as if he were surrendering "Just sayin'" he said; proceeding to his room. I let out a frustrated sigh.
"Give me my phone back" I whined banging on the door, thankful that my mom was asleep "What's the magic word?" she shouted through the door "Please?" I asked, slight desperation laced my voice "The magic word is 'Abrakadabra' so no" she shouted, her grin prominent in her voice "C'mon" I groaned turning the knob repeatedly to see if it miraculously opens "Send him a message first. I'll check if you did through your phone" she replied, her voice muffle slightly by the door but I heard her loud and clear. I groaned while continiously banging the door "Come on" I whined "What did I do to you to deserve this?" I asked over dramatically "A list of things my dear" she laughed "Your a terrible person" I huffed out in fake anger. The door unexpectedly swung open making me tumble forward. She gave me the phone, that glint missing in her eyes "What happened?" I asked curiously "Ran out of drugs" she said smiling dryly whilst pacing to my room with me trailing behind "Seriously" I said concerned "Fine. I'm not taking my pills anymore. This is normal and you know that" she explained, a fake smile plastered on her face. A frown creased my forehead but before I can even comment about it my phone vibrated
Fr: JoshBoo ;)
Hey, and sure. Meet you there.
'Cheeky bastard changed his name' I thought but then I was more than confused seeing the text. I scrolled up looking at the previous conversation

Hey, wanna go to the fair with me this Saturday?
My eyes widened "Shaira?" I called "Yeah?" I heard her call back "Why the hell did you ask Josh out?" I asked confused "YOU asked him out. Not me" she said, that glint in her eyes back as she giggled at my reaction falling on my duvet, her body shaking with laughter as she dug her face in the soft fabric "I hate you, you know?" I asked her slightly annoyed but if I were to be honest, I'm glad she did that
"Love you too sweetie" she giggled.
Josh's POV
I groaned as my phone loudly rang letting me know I had a message. I blindly searched my phone in my side table, knocking several things in the process.
I was planning on sleeping the whole day. Letting the cool air of my a/c send goosebumps all over my skin. I know. I know. Its very lazy of me. But hey, I don't give two fucks.
I finally found my phone, opening the lock screen hissing at the bright light of my Android. I opened the message and saw it was Kristine so I- Holy shit its Kristine.

My eyes widened as I tried to convince myself this was a dream which resulted to me looking at my phone's screen like the idiot I am. When my mind went back to normal setting my face broke into a grin

Cool and simple. Chicks dig that right? I mean, right? My finger hovered over the send button, thinking wether or not the reply was enough 'Fuck it' I thought pressing the button. I waited the message to be sent before plopping down on my bed, my warm bare skin against the cool sheets of my duvet felt amazing. I sighed, suddenly contented with life.
Maybe things are looking up for me this year.
