TADRE

Dragon Riders?

??? POV
I ride into town, my black Quarter Horse nickers at me. Her name is Midnight. I've had her since my birth. We got along perfectly! In town, a girl stood beside three men. One with fiery red hair, one with black hair, and one with brown hair.
The girl smiled at me, and I rode over with caution. My broad sword rested in its' sheath on my right thigh. My cloak flapped as I trotted over. The girl had long brown hair, about one year older than myself.
She began talking "Hello, I am Dar... Sapphira."
Sapphira stuck out her gloved hand. Her hood covered her face, and a black shadow covered her face.
I introduced "I'm Catherine. Or Cat for short."
Sapphira smiled and replied, "How old are you, Cat?"
I reply "Thirteen. You?"
She smirks "Fifteen. So... how many thirteen years old are in your village?"
I reply, staring at the black-haired man "Uh... just me.. who are they?"
She smirks "Surely you've heard of us by now? No? Huh. TADRE is keeping you dark then! Well, let me explain. I'm sure you've seen TADRE scouts, yes? And how some people test positive but are still rejected? Well, we, The Shiner, The Pheonix, The Alpha, Rouge, and myself are here to collect them. They are of our kind, but we do accept other riders as well...."
My heart races and I shudder "Why is the legendary school...re....rejecting...stu...students?"
I was one of the ones they wouldn't let test.
She seemed sad and  choked "Plasma & Air dragon riders are being rejected or worse... stripped of powers."
One of the men pulled Sapphiras' hood off. Her face was half-covered by a black dragon tattoo. The mark. We were taught to avoid the marked ones, that they had twisted morals and corruption. Another one was on her arm. She drew a hand out. I dismounted. She looked at Midnight, and my tack fell off. Midnight bows to me, and gallops out of town to the trees.
I ask "How do you find riders?"
She says "I speak to dragons, that is how I find riders."
I look at Sapphira. Her eyes turn blue, and she grins.
She whispers "Rouges aren't allowed in towns like this. We risk our lives so you don't accidentally get discovered. Now come. I sense another rider near here. Here, pull this on and cover your face. Meet us outside town with all of your things. Step lightly, we'll be back soon."
A black cloak slid over my head. The man with red hair grinned. Then it struck me. The Alpha, Rouge, The Pheonix, The Shiner. Where's Dark Rider? Sapphira, maybe? I nabbed my stuff and found the Legendary Five outside town. A boy with blonde hair starred at me. Sapphira said his name was Jack. I nod. I hop on, and a red fire dragon, and three Plasma, Air, and partial Lunar land. I look at the travelers. A wolf, a fire cat, two human boys, and a black panther with wings of a dragon. They take off on their dragons, except for the panther who flew beside her dragon.
I am riding with legends! Wait... why is there a normal boy?
A knowing smile came from the wolf "That is Rouge or The Healer. The other is Gus."
He hissed at the wolf at the mention of "Healer". The wolf growled back.
It continued "I am The Alpha. The boy is Rouge, The red dragon is Phionex, The panther is Dark Rider, and the fire cat is The Shiner, not to be confused with Dark Rider, ever."
The Alpha continued in a whisper "But Dark Rider is the one to worry about. Now, we're near the horrid TADRE, so we must disappear. It doesn't hurt."
Dark Rider sighed and flicked her left paw back at us. I saw men on the defense towers, screaming to beware of The Rouges. They said that they were invisible and outlaws... oh brother. Then my mind clicked. The legends were known for joining with Rouges. Then they were stripped of powers for punishment. They still had a bit left, so they were were-cats, fire wielders, and were-wolfs. This is the good side. I pat the black dragon I ride. We come up beside  Dark Rider and her dragon. We suddenly stop, Dark Rider glancing at Jack, and Gus who was on Lunas' back. She gestured for us to stay, and for Luna, Gus, and I to come. We obeyed, the warning from the Alpha in my head. Dark Rider is the one to worry about. She can make us disappear, or just herself.
I asked, "Dark Rider, where are we going?"
She purred "To get Gus home. The others are going to their homes on the island, as we aren't allowed elsewhere anymore. Not even with our own species. They must visit us, or we won't be alive to see them."
We came to a large hut with many rooms.
She said "We all live here, but I guess they got sidetracked. They... they..."
Her head tipped to the side "Fishing. They are fishing for supper."
I shake my head as a question drives my brain "Are you, Sapphira?"
She grins and says "When in human form, yes. I don't go into it much though, it's a strange feeling. I feel like it now though that I think about it."
She changed into a person different from Sapphira. Long legs, black tights, and covered in body armor. A helmet covered her whole head, with only eye holes. The armor was black, and leather with metal centers. She was wearing black combat boots. Her eyes were blue under the helmet. Her figure was fit and muscular.
I ask "Is that Sapphira, or Dark Rider?"
A grave voice speaks "Dark Rider. Sorry, my human isn't the best."
She coughs, and her voice levels out "Time for you.."
She gestures to Gus and me.
"to test for what kind of dragon you need. Come along."
We stand outside a dark cave. Fire rings surrounded large boulders. The boulders had secured a basket of dragon eggs of many shapes and sizes. One unknown to myself were mixed with common ones. I felt a tap.
Dark Rider was telling me to back up. Then she nods to Gus. He gets a shrug. He walks in. A roar sends him backward from the cave. I stare as a dragon slips out, in a flash. I can't identify it. Dark Rider says "No tests today, I need to gather some dragon eggs. Go inside, supper is ready."
We plod inside and eat some Jackfish. Then we chat about random things. Then we all drift off to bed.
