"Hey boss. I came right away. Joey was on his way down. Here is your coffee." I ramble on as I look around for Joey to come at any moment.
"Holly is this how things are going to be with us now? You have to hide our friendship?" Jordan demands to know.
"Listen he is just really hurt right now. About you wanting to be with me. You going after me. The past. Leave him alone. I will try to work things out for you both" I vow.
"Work what out Holly?" I hear Joey ask behind me. I groan.
"Joey hi" I say as I hug him.
"Did you tell this creep you quit working for him?" Joey demands.
"Did you tell this weirdo that you have a right to work for whoever you want to?" snaps Jordan. They glare at each other. Curious stares come our way on the stage.
"Guys please do not do this right now" I beg of them.
"Fine" Jordan snaps as he takes his coffee and heads on his way.
"Joey" I sigh. He was not saying a word. He looked furious.
"Like old times huh? Going to see Jordan behind my back" he snaps at me.
"Joey he is my boss. I am in contract with him right now. Do you realize that?" I ask him.
"Holly either him or me. You can't have us both. I do not think I can trust you if you work for him" he grumbles before walking away from me. He could not mean that? I needed this job. If I quit how was I going to pay my bills? I knew Joey was upset. Tears come over me.
"Holly what is wrong?" Jon asks me as he greets me hello.
"Joey is upset with me. I will not stop working for Jordan. I am Jordan's friend. That is all. I love Joey. I wish they could be friends again. This is all my fault Jon" I cry. He hugs me.
"Hey no worries. They are grown men. They can work out their own bull shit" Jon tells me.
"I hope so" I sniff. I leave. I could not stay there. Maybe I should go home. Let things work out with Jordan and Joey. No matter how much I loved Joey I wanted the best for him. Maybe the best was to just walk away. I was causing the band extra drama. Fans would hate my guts if the band broke up over me. I could see the headlines now. And the pitch forks to. I head to my room.
I lay on my bed. Tears come. Here I was so happy before. Now I was so utterly confused. What should I do? I really did not want to lose Jordan or Joey. Most importantly Joey. I loved him so much. Here we were getting along so well. I hear a knock at my door. I open it. There was Jordan and Joey standing there. They come in.
"Hey guys what do you want?" I say as I dry my tears before they could see them.
"Holly I was acting like a jerk. I wanted to apologize. I have no right to demand that you quit. If you want to work for Jordan fine. But that does not mean I have to see him. Or deal with him. You do. I know I can trust you even if I do not trust him" Joey tells me. He smiles at me.
I hug him.
"Joey I was worried I was going to have to let you both go. I do not want to come in between you" I worry.
"We did this ourselves Holly. It is not your issue" Jordan pipes up.
"Jon was right we are grown men. We need to work this out like adults" says Joey.
"Jon talked to you?" I laugh. Joey nods. I kiss his cheek.
"Joey if I had not been working for Jordan we might not have met up again" I point out.
"True" he agrees.
"Jordan maybe this way the past can work it's own issues out. You guys need healing from this" I tell them.
"Maybe" says Jordan.
"I hate to see two brothers fight" I plead.
"Give us time" Joey says. Jordan nods.
"See you guys later" Jordan says as he leaves us there.
"Joey I am glad you came back for me" I sigh.
"Holly we will work past the past. We have such a bright future ahead of us. I cannot wait to find out all the adventures that will be heading our way baby" he tells me. He smiles as he touches my cheek.
"Can you trust me to work with Jordan? I will try to find another job when I am back home. I do not want you to worry" I say.
"You would do that for me?" he asks.
"For us. I love you. Yes I would" I say. He smiles.
"I do trust you. It is him I do not trust. He wants you. As much as I do. That is what drives me crazy" he sighs. He kisses me.
"You have me. He will never have me" I promise him.
"I like the sound of that" he laughs.
"I am all yours. You are stuck with me" I joke.
"Good" he says as I kiss him.
My heart feels so happy. Joey is my better half.
"You are right about one thing" he says.
"Oh?" I ask.
"If Jordan had not hired you I might never have saw you again" he says to me.
"It was fate. We were meant to find our way back to each other" I promise him.
"Agreed" he says happily. He kisses me making me forget my troubles.
