What have I ever done to you?
To make you shove me when I walk in the hallway.
You have no valid reason but-
Oh yes that's right.. I'm gay
Just because I'm something other than straight,
Doesn't mean I have to be
The blunt of the jokes you make.
Just because I'm queer,
Doesn't mean you have the right
To laugh at me when I'm near.
This isn't a problem of race, interest, or age
Or The clothes I wear or the grades I make
Or even Whether I play basketball or an instrument on stage
Homophobia is such a strange word
By the context used today
It's not a fear of homosexuals
But shunning them because they're gay.
Because of this I sit here, alone and afraid
Not knowing if the torture will end someday.
What did I ever do to you,
That made you treat me this way?
