This can't be good. I was still shaking from shock as I looked at the bruises lining my arms from where his fingers had held me. Mark had disappeared as soon as he relayed the message leaving me stunned. Stupid Angel speed.
I tried taking deep breaths as I entered the dance floor again searching for Mason. Lily spots me and runs up to me wrapping her arms around me and dancing. I couldn't help but wince in pain. Being thrown at a wall isn't exactly nice.
"Emmeline , are you okay? What's wrong Hun?
"Do you know where Mason is ?"
"Um..." I can tell she knows by the expression on her face.
"Lily."
"Okay, okay. He's near the bar talking to Nina."
"Nina!?" I can feel my bitch face a'commin'.
"Don't worry! She's just his ex." Just his ex! I race over to the bar in a jealous rage only to stop as my heart split in two. He was kissing somebody else. I let out a whimper as Mason pushed the girl away looking furious. He turned his gaze to me and it was replaced with sorrow and regret. I ran.
I leaned against the wall outside as tears streamed down my face. How could he do that to me? I know I haven't known him long but we're supposed to be soul mates for crying out loud . She was really pretty as well with long straight dark brown hair and tanned skin. Ugh I'm so stupid for liking him still. Stupid bond. Stupid ex. Stupid Angels. Stupid Mason.

Then my sight disappears and images are being projected into my head. 'Relax Emmeline , it's James. This is my gift. When humans are turned we obtain a special gift. ' He plays the scene out again of Mason and that girl kissing only from his point of view. They're arguing when suddenly she grabs hold of his neck and kisses him. A second later I appear and Mason pulls back looking angry then shocked when he realises I saw. 'You see Em, no reason to be upset. Please come back. Mason is freaking out looking for you.'
I hurry inside the club again to see Mason pacing with his hands fisted in his hair shouting at people. I quickly run up and tackle him in a hug. He picks me up and my legs wrap around him. I feel safe and where I belong.
"Shit Em I'm sorry. She kissed me I swear-"
"Ssh ." I place a finger on his lips ," it's okay James showed me what happened otherwise I'd be kicking you where the sun don't shine right now."
"Ah . James thanks man," Mason thanks him over my shoulder.
"No problem mate."
"Aw doesn't this just look sweet," a new voice I've never heard before inputs sarcastically.
" Nina-" Mason warns. I can't help but see red as I hop down from Mason's hold and charge towards her and slap her straight across the face. Jared and Andrew burst out laughing. Nina holds her cheek then turns angrily to attack me but before she can Mason safely tucks me behind his body.
"I think you should leave." Josephine whispers. Nina looks at her with a hurt expression before storming off. I turn around to see Mason's eyebrows furrowed as he stares at my arm.
" what the fuck happened to your arms?" He asks so slowly even I become nervous as the rage builds to the surface.
"Mark attacked me."
"WHAT?" Comes from everybody who are all now paying close attention to our conversation.
"I came out of the bathroom and he slammed me against the wall. He said ' lucifer sends his love.'" Mason growls before slamming his fist on the table.
"I'm gonna kill him!"
"Lucifer?" Abby asks hesitantly and I nod. She turns to Jared scared and his jaw tenses in response.
"Dammit! He knows Mason and now he'll try to take her." Jared states.
"Over my dead body." Mason retorts with a murderous expression.
"What do we do?" I ask as I become even more scared. For Christ's sake this is lucifer we're talking about here ; the King of hell.
"Right now I'm taking you home." Mason finally answers.
-------------------------------------------- When I arrive back at my house I quickly say goodnight to my mum and head for my bedroom. I hurry to replace my dress with a tiger onesie (cool and ironic I know right) then open the window for Mason .

He lands softly on my floor his wings retreating and pulls me into his embrace. I don't think I'll ever tire of being held in Mason's arms.
"Hey tiger you're a tiger," he whispers into my hair causing me to giggle.
"I chose it for you because I'm awesome like that."
"That you are and sexy." He chuckles before pulling my tail.
"Hey knock it off."
Mason picks me up so he's cradling me and places me in my bed before getting in as well and wrapping his arms around me.
"What are you doing?"
"What's it look like?"
"You can't sleep in my bed! My mum's across the hall."
"She'll never know , I'd be gone before she has the chance to open your door. Don't fight me on this tiger , I'm not leaving you alone after tonight. In fact your gonna have to get used to my company for a while now that lucifer knows."
We lay snuggled together for a while before I whisper into the silence ,"I'm scared."
He gently picks up my hand kissing each bruise then whispers back , " I'll always and forever protect you mea pretiosum Tigris."
