"WHAT!?" I screeched in fury. "Who took her and where? I swear to God if you don't answer me right this damn second ..." My screams became muffled by Mason's hand yet again but this time I was too distracted to notice his closeness as the blinding rage built up.
"Relax tiger ." He whispered soothingly in my ear causing me to glare at him although my heart did do a little skip at his nickname for me. "Jared shoot"
"Um ... Mason " Jared began gesturing to me " unless you want her to find out I can't really explain ..."
Mason pinched his brow , scrunching up his nose in a way that looked so cute and darn sexy .... Wait shut up Em you're supposed to be mad and focused right now. I started fidgeting reminding Mason he still held me captive and he let me go giving me a look that said 'behave.'
"Will someone please tell me what's going on ? No secrets , I'm a big girl and I can handle the truth ."
Mason laughed at this giving me a condescending look- jerk. He chose to ignore me.
" You know I can't tell her Jar. I just found her and I can't afford to lose her." Is it just me or were they talking about me ; I am so confused right now.
" Well maybe keeping her in the dark will be her demise." Mason groaned seeming conflicted and I chose this moment to but in.
"Can you two please take a trip out of crazy land and tell me where the hell Savannah is ! She's my cousin and best friend so I'm kinda freaking out right now with worry. My mum is expecting me home in an hour ! How am I going to explain Savannah's disappearance?" My ranting was disrupted by Mason as he pulled me forward into his embrace seeming distressed at seeing me upset. Wow - he willingly touched me for once .
"Shh Em . You're right I'll tell you but not here , let's go back to mine and Jar's place and I'll explain as much as I can. God I hope I don't regret this." Jared placed a comforting hand on his shoulder and I began contemplating what was so bad? Were they in the mafia ? Undercover cops ? Was what I heard back there real?
" I hate to break up the bromance but could I borrow one of your phones to call my mom please ?" I was in a bad mood okay ?
Jared rolled his eyes at me and passed me his phone. I told my mum I was staying at Savannah's because she was alone and shook up after the lights went out in the club. Her mum was away at her boyfriends for the week so my mum agreed so long as I wasn't late for school tomorrow.
"Okay I'm ready lets go -" I was cut off by a rattling noise further up the alley way. Just then everything seem to get colder as if death it's self had come in with its icy touch. Mason hastily pushed me behind him with a protective arm thrown out across me while Jared joined his side. They both stood ready to attack their muscles contracted under the shirts and gazes narrowed straight ahead at the approaching shadows. They seemed unaffected in their teeshirts by the cold that tore against my skin.
