The fear is what I remember most.
Uncontrollable tremors shook me to my core as I knew what awaited me. My final hour didn't seem so great any more, there would be no other side for me. My calves ached from running the treacherous path as thorns cut and dragged their sharp blades into my skin teasing me. It's coming the wind whispered in my ear as silence settled upon the earth.
It couldn't end like this. What about him? The one I now live for, too see his smile spread as he gazes upon me. My love was supposed to be everlasting but now it will be struck down by nothing but a monster that teased me as it pushed me to flee in its web of games.
Just like in my dreams I was being hunted. Though I felt hopeless and unimaginable fear I didn't feel alone like in the dreams only regretful that I didn't get to tell him I loved him.
I made the mistake of turning round. I lost my balance and fell to the forest floor with a shattering force .
The sting of the graze on my side became unnoticed as I scrambled forward with determination to fight and escape. I didn't get very far before it seized hold of my ankle with its scathing talons and threw me through the air. The wind sliced past my cheek as I hit the tree with a sickening crunch. The pain twisted nots into me and I let free one tear as I tasted the metallic of blood on my lips. I was sure it could smell the blood.
I gazed upwards to the last thing I remember seeing before it all went black. The red eyes of a devils spawn.
