My life on the Odesseya

Brief history lesson

It's noon now. I feel way better. I just have a slight headache. But I'm just finished watching a few episodes of that show I was talking about yesterday, Lost. So anyways, it was really good. Newt is already gone to the concert with the girls. And while he's out having fun with his nieces, I'm here about to turn on the news. Alright so channel 453...here we go. The news channel. Ok well apparently Comander Ga'jen is very sick and her daughter has to take charge of the Valkerya until her mother gets better. The Valkerya is another huge ship. But the Valkerya is a battleship whereas the Odesseya is a civilian ship. So the Valkerya is here to protect us from what we call the Scoreged. Their aliens. 4 years after I was born, we met them. We had found a habitable planet. Fresh water, good air and fertile soil. A few small ships carried about 300 civilians and about 100 military personnel to settle down for a while to see if we could live there. They were there for about 5 months until their first contact. The Scoreged suspected that the humans down there were attackers and hostile. They took them into a city. We know this cause they hacked a camera and sent a live video to the Valkerya. We were able to translate what they were saying and it wasn't pretty. They had lined up 100 civilians and 50 military personnel on a stage in front of some central building. They then proceeded to execute them. One by one as the people of the Odesseya and the Valkerya watched in horror. Men women and children were executed on that stage. A small team of about 10 soldiers snuck their way into the central building and suicide bombed the place. What a bunch of idiots. Everyone was killed. Then the Scoreged sent ships after us. Their ships were more heavily geared for battle. This is when I tell you that there used to be two more civilian ships. The Meduaya and the Cecolpiya. The Cecolpiya was destroyed the first time the Scoreged attacked. They chased us for 4 years until they were able to catch up enough to attack again. That it was when the Meduaya was destroyed. But before the Scoreged could attack again we went into light speed and fled as far away as possible. We haven't see those bastards in 19 years. But what I find cool are the names. The names of all the ships are so cool and they're taken from some super super super super, oh and did I mention it was SUPER OLD mythology. Something called Greek, Roman and Norse mythology. So let's start with the Odesseya. The Odesseya was originally Odessey. It was and old Greek poem describing the journey of a hero called Odesseyeus. His journey was to go home after some city called Troy fell. So it fits. Because, earth was destroyed and now we're on a journey to find a new home. Ok now the Valkerya. Valkerya was taken from Norse mythology. The original name was Valkyrie. Valkyrie means the chooser of the slain. Basically it's a group a winged women that decide who live or dies in battle. It good for a battle ship. The Cecolpiya was originally Cyclope. Cyclopes are from Roman mythology. They are giant beings that have only one eye in the middle of their forehead. The name literally means round-eyed. It was a good name for that ship because of the way it was built. The front of the ship looked like a huge eye. And finally, Meduaya, The original name that the Meduaya comes from is Medusa. Medusa was a winged creature with snakes instead of hair. This is a good name because of the architecture. The Meduaya had a central area were all the shops and restaurants all around that central area there were and a bunch of...I guess I could call them tubes that had all the homes in them so I guess it looked like a head with snakes for hair. Anyways back to watching TV. Well my head feels completely better son I'm gonna go for a jog around the block and write when I get back. Bye
