Chp 14: Jolene

Rick's P.O.V

I woke up in the morning to Michonne coughing like hell, so I sat up instantly and began shaking her awake. It was another sleep paralysis although she hasn't had one in a while.

"Michonne!" I exclaimed

Her eyes opened and she smiled at me, "Good morning, I love you." She whispered

"I love you too." I kissed her neck and then her shoulder and then her arm and then her stomach. The trail of kisses made her giggle and I stared at her beautiful smile and ran my fingers through her dreads.

"I have to help Maggie plant things today, gotta go." she said

"Stay a little while? Please? The boys aren't even up." I pleaded

Judith stayed with Carol last night, since she offered to babysit so we could get some sleep... And we slept well..

"No.. Rick, I can't," she said, as I began to kiss all over her again.

"Fine." I said

I kissed her lips again before getting off her.

She sat up and the sheet dropped from over hee chest, damn.. I just wanna...

She got up and tried to walk but for some reason she fell.
I instantly jumped up and went to help her get up. She claimed she couldn't move her legs so I had to carry her to the bed.

"You alright?" I asked, panting from the physical activity.

"Rick, I can't move my legs, they are like numb." She exclaimed

I smiled at her and she hit my chest,
"Why are you smiling!"

"I gave it to you so good you literally can't walk." I joked

She giggled and hit me again,
"Stop!"

"Alright but you stay here today.. I'll take shift with Maggie."

She half smirked at me and got comfortable in bed, "thank you." she murmured

"No problem. The boys will probably offer to take care of you today so just tell them you're sick or something." I suggested

She nodded and gestured for me to kiss her.

I leaned in and kissed her lips and then her forehead. The kiss on her lips meant that I'd miss her and the forehead kiss meant that I love her.

I tucked the covers over her and smiled, "yeah, I'm sorry about this-- uh, didn't know you'd be like this." I hesitated

"It's alright. It was worth it." she smiled

It sure was, that's for sure.

I chuckled at her and walked into the bathroom to get ready for her shift.

I met Maggie out by the garden, she was pulling weeds with some other blonde haired girl.

I walked over to them and pulled Maggie to the side.
"Michonne can't work today she's--- uh, sick." I lied

"Oh.." Maggie frowned

"Hey, but I'll take her spot."

Maggie smiled and handed me an extra pair of gloves from her apron,

"This is Jolene, I'm off to cook with Carol so you two are the only ones on duty."

Maggie smiled at us and awkwardly walked away.

The blonde haired girl sat up and stared at me and she was gorgeous.
She had emerald green eyes and red lips that could end your life.

She smiled and held out her hand, "Rick, I'm guessing. Heard lots 'bout you Sheriff."
She had a saccharine southern accent, that obviously didn't fit her city girl face.

I shook her hand and she seemed to tighten her grip when I did,
"Nice to meet you Jolene." I said, awkwardly.

"Oh it's my pleasure, Sheriff." she emphasized the word 'sheriff' and bit her lip.

Don't get tempted Rick. Don't get tempted.

I slid on the gloves and began pulling weeds, quickly so I could distract myself from her.

But she followed me. We picked weeds together for a while, laughing and reminiscing. We talked about our common interests although there wasn't much since we live in this kind of world. She would accidentally bump into me a lot and once her hand even ran across my pants' zipper...
Jolene is a pretty cool girl, I'm not gonna lie..
But she was sending off such seductive vibes and I can already tell This isn't going to end well.
