* Faith’s POV *
The conference went great. We were like students attending one school and having fun, despite the fact we were all competitors in the business world. But none of that mattered today, only to meet new people and get along with them, sort of felt like first day in school.
Unfortunately, it also includes that annoying Xander Wells. Throughout the day, he has been calling me Bailey, and what’s worse, he even ordered his assistant to do the same. They have been making my life crazy all afternoon, and that if they continue, I’m willing to sew their mouths just to make them stop and leave me alone. But that wasn’t so me. I couldn’t even hurt a fly, and I’m not even exaggerating.
There’s always guilt I felt inside whenever I get mad at people, even if it was my fault. Weird, right? But that’s just how I am. Blade always tells me that I get my traits from my dad. He was sometimes like that, yelling at one of his bodyguards for not doing a good job, and then later on, he will treat that person nicely, only because it gets to him.
But then maybe, I could make an exception for Xander and his assistant, Ella. Yeah, I could ninja kick them in a dark alley. Wow, maybe I should stop watching too much crime TV shows it’s rubbing on me.
“Are you ready to go?” Chase asked as we headed out of the ballroom.
“I have to go to the bathroom.” I told them and they waited in the lobby, while I rushed to the bathroom to freshen up, and perhaps, wait for the other guests to leave.
Taking my time, I took out my phone and played Candy Crush. Can someone give me an advice how to get passed level 133 because I have been here for ages?
My phone buzzed a few minutes later. Blade texted.
“How was the conference? Are you on your way home?”
“It was good. We’ll be in a short while.”
“Have a safe trip home.”
“You sound like I live so far away.” And now I could picture Blade, laughing at my text and shaking his head.
Soon, ten minutes have passed. “I think I better go now.” I talked to myself, thinking that Chase and Danny might have gotten worried that I took so long.
As I got out of the room, I bumped into someone and I must have mumbled some incoherent words, assuming it was Xander and Ella again. Looking up, I was surprised to see him instead.
John Pearce.

“Hi.” She greeted. Her eyes were sparkling with happiness as she eyed me. Could this be real or is she playing a game to confuse my feelings and hurt me even more.
“Hey.” I uttered and smiled back at her.
“Were you at the conference?”
I shook my head. “No, I… I mean, Justice Crew were preparing for a show tonight.”
“Oh. That sounds fun!” She exclaimed.
“Do you want to watch?” I asked, hoping she would say yes. It was a great idea, knowing Lenny would be able to see her and he would tell me I’m not dreaming. That he also believes that this girl was my Bailey.
“I would love to, but I can’t. My boyfriend’s waiting for me at home.” She explained. Her happy face dropped suddenly. Maybe she really wanted to see Justice Crew perform tonight. “Maybe next time.”
“Yeah, maybe next time.” I repeated and sighed.
“I better go now.” She pointed to the exit. “My bodyguards are waiting for me in the lobby. They might think I have drowned in the toilet right now.” She chuckled as I nodded.
