Chapter Nine: The Royal Trial (Part Three)
“Oh God, is he okay? Check his pulse! Is he still breathing? Brother.. brother is he still alive?”
“Calm down Ellie, he just passed out is all.”
“Are you sure? D-double check! Oh Lord, the King is never going to forgive us! We failed to protect the Prince, the only heir to the throne! We‘re both going to get beheaded for this!”
“Ellie, stop and breath. He’s going to be okay.”
My legs twitched as I began coming to; my mind foggy with horrible visions of snakes, shaking rooms, and creepy midgets, but all was just a dream. I’ll wake up in my comfy bed and everything will be fine. I can smell breakfast now; the sweet sent of eggs, bacon, and my personal favorite, pancakes! Ah yes, I shall wake up now before my food gets cold and forget about the horrible nightmare..
“He’s ALIVE!”
“I told you he was okay..”
Opening my eyes, I wasn’t the least bit surprised to see Ellie and Delita looking down at me; it was normal after all considering they‘re always the ones sent to wake me. I’ve always woken up late, though I‘m not sure why. My mother used to make fun of me because of it, seeing as my favorite time of the day was breakfast and I’m always the last one down to the dinning table. Oh well, it is what it is. I’m just glad to be home and.. wait.. wait..
“It’s about time you’ve woken up from your nap Prince, now we can get back to our adventure!”
I heaved the heaviest sigh humanly possible. I can’t believe it, it wasn’t a dream.. Here I am still inside this stupid Temple taking this dumb trial.. This is the worst birthday ever..
“Adventure.. yeah right..” I spoke with utter disappointment, my eyes scanning the room. Thank God, no more snakes..
“Don’t be a baby Price, really! Toughen up, be a man!”
“Leave him alone Ellie.”
Climbing to my feet, I brushed off my cloths that were now completely covered in dust and dirt. The room we were in was quite small with a lone statue in the shape of some kind of animal in the middle, and to top it off, there was no exit.. Why was I not surprised.
“So what now? There’s no way out besides the way we came..” I moaned while rubbing the back of my head. It was starting to feel like forever, and we’ll be stuck within the Temple for the rest of our lives.. An unpleasant thought that I couldn’t help but bring forth, but who could blame me? Everything that’s happened thus far has been just that, unpleasant.
“Uh, I think that’s simple!” Ellie began as she casually strolled over to the stature; briefly looking it over with one hand on her hip and the other placed under her chin. You could see the light bulb light up in her peanut brain; her hair whipping around behind her as she spun to face us. “We have to do something with this ugly thing!”
“Ellie..” Delita sighed while pinching the brim of his nose.
“No really brother! It has to be it!”
“I’ll have to agree with Delita, that’s too easy. I doubt anything in this Temple is that simple.”
Rolling her eyes, Ellie began pushing, pulling, and even kicking the statue. She jumped on it while tugging on what could be its horns, or maybe it was its tails..? I wasn’t too sure what it was, I couldn’t even begin explaining its appearance if I tried. All I can really say is, Ellie was right on one thing, it was ugly.
