Zayn

As I opened the door to Niall’s flat, I could feel the butterflies flutter in my stomach. I felt so happy, almost weightless, as I slid into his apartment, and closed the door behind me. It was the seventh of January, which meant Niall had been mine for a week. And all through that week, I had been happier than I had ever been before.

I snuck into the kitchen, and found Niall sitting on a stool, playing with his guitar. He hadn’t noticed that I had come yet, so I walked over to him and wrapped my arms around his waist. “Hey babe.”

Niall screamed, and dropped the guitar, but grabbed it again the moment before it hit the floor. “Zaynie! Don’t you ever scare me like that!”

I laughed, let go of his waist, took his guitar, and put it on the kitchen counter. “I’m sorry. I just want to spend some time with my boyfriend, is that a crime?”

Niall walked over to me, and wrapped his hands around my neck. “Of course not.” He planted a kiss on my nose. “But warn me next time, okay? Wanna watch a movie?”

I nodded, and followed him into the living room. “What about this one?”

He held up Fried Green Tomatoes at Whistle Stop Café. “It’s Denise’s favourite movie.”

“Sure.”

He pushed play, and we cuddled up on the couch. I sat with my back to the armrest, and Niall sat between my legs, with his head resting on my chest.

“Second try of movie night with Ziall,” he laughed. I blushed. I remembered how the last movie night had ended with me yelling at him in the kitchen.

“I’m sorry about that, Niall,” I whispered.

“Oh, it’s okay. You were just scared.”

“No, babe, it’s not okay. I yelled at you. I shouldn’t have done that. And it makes me sick to think about it.”

He turned his head to look up on me. “Really, Zaynie. It’s okay. I get why you did it. Now stop thinking about it, and watch the movie.”

He turned his attention to the telly, and I mindlessly let my fingers play with his hair. He was just so perfect.

“By the way, have you told Perrie yet?”

I could tell he tried to sound cool, but he tensed up as he asked the question.

“Yeah.”

That was a lie. I hadn’t found the courage to break up with her yet. I knew it was wrong, to both of them, but I just couldn’t.

Sigh.

“And how’d she take it?”

“Can we talk about this later? I don’t want to ruin this moment.”

Niall let out a groan, but relaxed, and stopped asking.

I let my fingers run down his neck, his arms, his chest. I then gently kissed his neck, from his collar bone, all the way up to his ear.

“Zayn.”

“Yes,” I smiled, not letting his voice distract me from what I was doing.

“You’re distracting me. I’m trying to watch a movie here.”

He turned around, pouting. “Watch the movie.”

I smiled, and leaned down to kiss him. “Nah… think I wanna do this instead.”

As his lips touched mine, and a million sparkles flew over my skin, through every nerve of my body, I looked up.

Someone was standing there, watching us.

And I recognized her.

Fuck.
