Nami's POV

"Sanji-kun, I told you, I'm not yet ready for another relationship." I said as I quickened my pace to the exit of school.

"Please Nami-san, just give me a chance. I'll prove myself." He said as he ran after me.

I shook my head. "I just...can't. I'm sorry Sanji."

For some odd reason, it started raining after I said that. I ran to the bus stop, not caring even if my clothes and things were getting soaked. I sighed, letting the rain fall on me. I felt like it was washing my problems away but I still felt heavy inside. When suddenly the rain stopped pouring on me, so I looked up. A blue umbrella.

"You're gonna get sick if you stay under the rain for too long." Sanji said when I met his eyes.

"T-thank you," I looked away, feeling a blush on my cheeks. There was a comfortable yet a bit awkward silence, settling in our atmosphere. You could even hear the rain drops hitting the top of the umbrella. We waited a few more minutes for a bus but still, none had even pass by. I think it'll be a long wait. So, I let myself drown in my own thoughts. Not until Sanji talked.

"Can we at least be friends, Nami?"

"I guess we can try but just friends, okay?" I answered and he nodded weakly. "I don't think there'll be any busses going to pass by right now."

"Then, at least, let me escort you home." Sanji proposed.

I hesitated in answering, because honestly I don't know if I should say yes or no. Wait, he's just gonna take me home, what's the big deal?

"I thought we're just friends?"

"I am going to escort you as a friend." He smirked.

When we reached my house, I went straight to my bedroom. Before changing, I looked outside through the window and saw Sanji, standing on the sidewalk with his hands in his pockets. When he noticed my gaze, he waved and smiled at me before leaving. The sidewalk was now empty but I still felt something within me, a light tug in my heart. He was just a friend, right?

I was walking towards the school when suddenly someone covered my eyes.

"Guess who it is, Nami!" A cheery voice said.

I answered without even giving another thought. "Sanji-kun?"

He/she who was covering my eyes removed his?her hand. My surroundings slowly cleared. I expected to see a mop of blonde hair but instead, I saw black.

"L-luffy?" I couldn't believe it. Why would my ex suddenly talk to me?

"Nami, I realized something. I... I want you back."

My heart skipped a beat. This was what I wanted ever since he broke up with me. But something else came out from my lips.

"No."

"No? Why?" He asked, utterly confused.

"Because," I sighed. "Because you can't just walk back to someone's life just like that." I can't believe what I'm saying myself.

I started walking towards the school again, leaving Luffy dumbfounded.

Why did I say that? My heart says 'yes' but my mind contradicted. I guess it was just the right choice. So I wouldn't get hurt.

I'll follow my brain, just for once.

A/N: I decided to cut my supposed to be "one-shot" so basically it's a short story now. A pretty short chapter though :/ I hope you enjoyed anyway :D
