When the trio had reached Jack's main house's private port, Jack helped Roxie with carrying Max a short part of the way until Jack's middle aged family butler, Hike, popped out of nowhere from the fading darkness of the early morning and carried Max bridal style. Roxie couldn't help herself, but laugh at how Max was being carried. Jack had noticed the humor in the situation, but knowing it wasn't appropriate had stopped himself from laughing. However, when he saw how Roxie was laughing so whole heartedly, he couldn't help, but join in on the laugh.

"Can't wait for him to wake up, so I can tell him about this." Roxie said between laughs. "Won't it be a while before he wakes up?" Jack asks. Roxie skips past Jack and replied, "Max isn't that big of a cry baby over just a stab wound." Jack caught up with Roxie and asked, "He got stabbed in the chest and survived? Just what exactly is he made of? Actually firstly who are you exactly, Roxie Q. Grey? I couldn't find any useful information on you." Roxie smiled sweetly towards Jack and stared at his eyes getting real close to his face, and said, "Are you that interested in me?" Jack stepped closer making their faces become even closer, and with a mischievous smile replied, "What if I said I am? Would you tell me?" Roxie pulled away from Jack and sighed while she said, "Ok, so that checked out." Jack with confusion asked, "What checked out?" Roxie replied, "The rumor about you being a player and a flirt." Jack laughed loudly and said, "Well, I guess I really am one. So, what about my answer?" She grabbed her chin with her two fingers of her right hand, thinking. After a bit of consideration, she at the end replied, "Sure, I can tell you some stuff. There is a catch though. I won't tell you anything until you join my chess club."

Jack then put on his business smile, that he had used to close so many deals for his father's company, and said, "Then shall we get going, so I can take a look at this proposition of yours." Just as he had finished saying those words, Roxie started running. She shouted back to Jack, "Whoever gets there last, has to do whatever the other one asks." Usually by no means does Jack participate in such ridiculous games; however, something about Roxie made him real curious and before he could think twice about his decision he started running after Roxie. If he was going to do something, he refused to lose without giving it his all.
