Everything will change

Sabrina's POV
I just sat there stunned as everyone else "what did you just say?" I asked still in shock "please Sabrina don't make me say it again" Sarah replied as a tear run down her cheek whilst Peyton rubbed her back. "I need time ..." I say as I stand up and walk to the entrance of the restaurant for some fresh air "Sabrina what about our dessert? or is this a bad time?" I hear Rowan say which brings a smile to my face.

I tried pinching myself to see if I was dreaming but nope it's all real! Everything is going to change, not only is Sarah going to become a mom at nineteen but by the looks of things I'm going to have to take care of Mia and myself on my own unless Shannon decides to come home since she moved into an apartment with Lucas.

Don't get me wrong I'm happy for Shannon, she loves us still but is so busy with her new apartment and also her university semester is slowly approaching that she can't spend as much time with us as she used too.

I was deep in my thoughts when I felt someone place a hand on my shoulder, I jumped a little but then realized it was Peyton and let's be honest I could probably beat him up if I needed too. "I know this is a bit of a shock" he said as I leaned against the railing looking at the cars driving by "shocked is an understatement" I replied not taking my eyes off of the cars, it's actually really peaceful, "I know your probably not going to listen to me right now but..." He got out before I interrupted him "what makes you think I won't listen to you?" I interrupted as I took my eyes off of the road and looked at him. "Because your like Sarah, you watch something and you get so distracted by something that maybe no one else can see that you ignore the world and everything around you, and also the fact that I kind of got your sister pregnant" he said trying to make me laugh, I gave a week smile "it's just so peaceful, watching people come and then go, I play games in my head and try to guess where they're going, who they're going to see and so on" I reply before my attention goes back to the cars "how do you find out? You know if your right or wrong" he asked as he watched also "you don't and that the fun of it you have to guess correctly but as long as you have a reason anything is possible" I really smiling as he try's to join in my game that some people find boring.

"Where do you think he's going?" He asked as he pointed to a guy in a sports car wearing a hands free, "he's going to a late night business meeting and he won't make it in time to see his daughters dance recital, he's a workaholic who is blinded by work that he misses moments that he'll never get back with his daughter and it's only when he is old and grey that he will realize and regret the things he didn't do" I reply as we watch him speed off.

"Wow your good, how'd you know all of that?" He asked shocked as I moved away from the railing and stood to the side of him, "the little girl was me" I say before walking back into the restaurant leaving Peyton standing there.

I walk back into the restaurant and see Mia and Rowan eating the dessert we got to share "sorry but it's so good" Rowan said as she shoveled another spoonful of ice cream into her mouth, I pick up Mia and place her on my lap "briny have some" she said as she placed a spoonful of ice cream in my mouth which I have to agree with Rowan was beyond delicious!

"Sabrina are you sure your ok?" Sarah said as she wiped some tears that were falling down her cheeks "we're going to be fine" I say as I attempt a smile although it's going to take time for me to adjust to the new circumstances, "but won't everything change?" She said "yeah but we'll get through it ... If we stick together" I say as I held her hand tightly and kissed Mia's forehead.

We decided that since it was late to head back to the hotel I walked hand in hand with Bradley whilst Mia walked with Rowan and Corey in front of us, we walked outside the restaurant to see Peyton standing in the same place I left him watching the cars and the people go by.

"Peyton, what are you looking at?" Sarah asked as she stood by the side of him "everything, I'm playing a game that someone taught me" he said as he smiled at me. "How do you play?" Rowan asked as she looked over the railing at the yellow cabs flying by and the cars and the busses with people all with interesting story's waiting to be told.

"You stand here and you watch as people come and go, some stay, some leave, sometimes they're fast and sometimes they're slow, each have their own story waiting to be told and explored, the fun part is guessing where they're going and who they're going to see" Peyton said as he watched more cars and vans fly by the railing "how do you know if your right?" Bradley asked as he placed his arm around me "you don't, it's all about your experiences, anything is possible in your mind as long as you can explain it" he replied as we all watched people leaving the small town and entering the town.

"Who taught you this game?" Sarah asked now becoming more involved in everything as Rowan and Corey discussed where a man on a motor bike was going, "it doesn't matter but I'll call her Oreo" he said as he smiled looking down at her "explain" she said begging for him to go on with the storey.

"The person is hard on the outside and is tough, yet sometimes the person breaks which leaves thin scars on her fragile body, now this is when we see the real her, through the scars we see a soft, warm, loving side of her that is still willing to love after all her let downs and disappointments, she still has hope" he replied as we all hung on his every word.

I smiled slightly as he winked at me as everyone else played my mind game which is probably something I keep to myself, it's how I've survived.
