The next morning, I’m the last one up as Ozzy is already sat on the balcony chair and is reading a paper whilst sipping from a bottle of water. Stretching up and wincing in pain, I sit up in bed before going to join him on the balcony. I push his foot off of the other metal chair and sit down opposite him. He grins at me and says, ‘Morning, sleepy. You okay?’
I nod, playing with the bracelet on my left hand. ‘This is quite the view,’ I tell him as I look out onto the great expanse of turquoise blue sea and immediately feel calm. The beach and sea are my safe places. The sear is so mesmerising and soothing to me, ever since spending so much time by it in Australia with Ozzy and falling asleep to the crashing waves every evening as we fell asleep. We barely left it unless we had to. My dream would ultimately be to live by the sea in any country when I am older and be able to just walk down to the beach after work to relax and have fun.
‘Do you remember that time when I buried you in the sand and made you a woman, with huge boobs?’ I smirk at him, the memory coming back to me.
‘I do, but they had nothing on yours,’ he winks. ‘You refused to let me do the same because you thought I’d run off and leave you.’
‘And I know you would have!’ I chide, laughing at him. Daisy and I had too much fun covering him in sand and making sure he looked as ridiculous as possible. His friend, Axel just looked on in laughter and amusement, running away from Daisy as she ran after him to do the same to him.
‘Maybe, but it would have been funny.’ He takes another sip of his drink before saying, ‘Do you remember when we all tried surfing? I think we were at surf school for a week straight and I still couldn’t ride a wave but you were a natural.’
I grin. ‘Well you know, some of us have it. Some don’t.’
He leans across the table at me and I mimic his actions, smiling at him. ‘Yes?’ I challenge.
‘Breakfast will be over soon. So get your arse into some clothes so we can line our stomachs for the day,’ he tells me with a grin, before walking in the room and pulling his boxers down to change.
‘Ozzy!’ I squeal, the sight of his naked and slightly fuzzy buttocks is so unfamiliar yet familiar to me after so long.
‘It’s nothing you haven’t seen before.’ He then turns his body around to face me and to prove a point, I keep my eyes at eye level and make sure not to glance down. He smirks and says, ‘Come on, lover, today’s going to be a big day for us, I can tell, so please, can we hurry up and get breakfast?’
He turns back around and I go over to my suitcase to change. He’s right. Today is the day for talking and maybe by tomorrow things will get better. I decide to put my coral tropical looking bikini on underneath my outfit that Ozzy chose for me as well as a pair of shorts and a light yellow cotton top. This is the one thing I thank Ozzy for, he knows my style well.
I follow him down to breakfast and we get a table for two looking over the beach. I go to the buffet and collect a selection of fresh fruit, toast and a glass of apple juice. After devouring breakfast, we head to the poolside with the pool bag I packed, as Ozzy thought going down in just trunks would suffice. We find two spare striped sun loungers next to one another. I watch as Ozzy takes his top off and it’s as if all the girls around the pool stop what they are doing and stare. I do too, admiring his already bronzed body. He lathers on suncream, before asking me to do his back. Rolling my eyes, he turns around as I carefully massage the suncream into his back, making patterns as I go, but making sure to rub it in completely before finishing. His back tenses as my fingers continue to skim over the planes of his body and massage the cream in.
