Kalani hummed to herself as she studied for a science quiz coming up. Although there were no distractions around her, she wasn't fully focused on what she was studying. She was thinking about the little 'plan' between her, Nia, and Brynn to get Kendall busted for all her bullying.
She decided to take a break from studying and come back to it later, so she sat her book down and plopped her head on her pillow, staring at the ceiling.
"Twat."
Kept playing over and over in her brain.
Why couldn't she keep her out of her mind?
She quickly plugged her ear buds into her ears and began to play soft music to ease her aching mind.
It worked. In fact, it worked so well Kalani drifted off into a three hour nap and was waken up for dinner.
She groggily walked out of her room, confused about what time, day, and year it was. She had a nice dream about her being able to fly, and she wasn't quite snapped back to reality yet.
She sagged into her chair at the dinner table, rubbing her eyes. Kira laughed, and slopped a big spoonful of mashed potatoes onto her plate.
"Well hello, sleepy head."
Kira said with a smile, making Kalani return one.
"I didn't even mean to fall asleep. I had a tiring day, and I guess my body just needed a nap. I sure am refreshed, though."
She said, yawning.
Kira laughed again.
"You look mighty refreshed to me."
She said, jokingly referring to her sleepiness.
The family all sat down and began to dig in. The food woke her right up. After dinner and dishes, she went to her room to continue her studying. After her nap, she completely forgot about the plan, and everything, so she was fully focused.
After a good half hour of studying, she had the whole study guide memorized top to bottom and bottom to top, so she neatly placed her papers back in her folder and picked up her phone. Out of habit, she clicked on Instagram, and looked at her notifications, and most of them made her smile.
Than she's saw a notification she was dreading.

Kalani raised a eyebrow at the last part.
