(F/n)'s POV

I was walking down the dimly lit hallways, late at night. My eyes were bloodshot red with tear stained cheeks as I made my way to the front door of HQ.

My hair was a bit of a mess and my shirt was falling off my shoulder. I pulled my shirt back up as I quietly opened the door, slipping outside.

I tip toed down the small staircase and sat down on the bottom step, looking up at the dark night sky. I deeply inhaled and exhaled as I watched the stars.

While I kept a steady breathing pattern, I recalled the nightmare I had earlier.

"I can't believe how worthless you are! You're the worst one here! You're never on time and never satisfy me!" They screamed in my face.

"I-I'm sorry-"

"Don't you remember what I keep telling you? "Sorry" isn't going to get you anywhere, here. Just go kill yourself before I do!"

"...Pl...please...just...give me a second chance..." I weakly whispered.

I turned around, picking up a teacup from the tray on the table behind me. I poured another glass and as I was turning back around, I accidentally dropped the teacup in their lap.

"WHAT THE FUCKING HELL?!"

I flinched at the sudden change in volume of their voice.

"I'm sorry!" I begged, handing them a towel.

"Dammit!" They got up, grabbing my arm and dragging me across the room towards the fireplace.

"No! Please, no!" I screamed, a few tears rolling down my cheeks.

"SHUT UP, WILL YOU?!"

"OW, P-PLEASE!!! NO!"

When my memory ended, I realized some tears started to form in my eyes again. Soon enough, they spilled out. And as for my relaxed breathing, I was almost hyperventilating now.

"...W...why...d-did this...happen to...m-me?" I stuttered, hiding my face in my hands.

After a few minutes passed, when I calmed down a little, I crossed my arms over my chest to keep me warm.

It was actually quite cool out here and I was shivering. There was no one here to comfort me in my dreadful state.

Just like my prayer was answered, I heard the door behind me, open.

"Cadet?"

I heard a voice ask. It sounded very feminine. "What?" I asked. Looking over my shoulder, I saw Hanji hurrying down the steps to my side.

"(F/n)...? What's wrong?" I could see the worried expression on her face when she sat down next to me. "...I...it's nothing." I stuttered, wiping away the excess tears falling from my eyes.

"(F/n) please tell me. Are you sure you're okay?" She scooted closer, wrapping an arm around me for reassurance.

"It was just a dream I had." I muttered. "What happened?" I paused for a moment, not really wanting to relive those thoughts.
