Aaliyah POV
A bright light shines in my eyes."Good morning sunshine!" Klay says all smiling with his hands on the curtain pulling them open to reveal more eye blinding light.
"Really Klay is this really necessary." I groaned.
"Of course now wake your lazy self up and get ready I have breakfast on the table." Klay calls as he walks down the hall. I breath. Memories from last night cloud my thoughts. He really isn't here it is nothing new but to know that tonight he isn't gonna come home was eye opening. Slowly I get up and stretch my arms. Today I wanted everything to be nice. I pick out a halter top and a pair of shorts with Nikes. Going down the hall I hear voices coming from the living room.
"Um Klay where do you want me to put-"Aaliyah?" Steph voice rings through my ears.
"My dirty clothes." I finish my sentence my voice almost at a whisper.
"What are you doing here?" Wardell asks stepping closer to me I move back afraid of how I would react if he came to close.
"Please." I beg. He just looks at me.
"Uh I think you should uh go Steph she needs sometime away from you." Klay tells him softly. Steph turns around not before giving me one last glance.
"Why didn't you tell me she was with you last night when I called?" Steph questioned Klay.
"She didn't want to be found and it wasn't my place to disrespect her privacy. Face it Steph this girl has been through it because of you." He explained to Stephen. Steph shakes his head. He turns to me.
"But I can change baby we can be become happy again." Steph murmurs gently caressing my cheek looking deep in my eyes. His hazel eyes bore into what I felt like my soul. I lay my hand over his.
"I was never happy Steph every night I would wait for you hour after hour hoping you would come home worried sick. Is that what you call happy?" I whisper my voice breaking at the end. Klay rest his hand on Wardell's shoulder as Steph gives him a knowingly look. Steph walks out but then he stops.
"I'm gonna prove to you I'm different and I won't give up until I have you I love you Aaliyah." He states before finally walking out the door.
"I'm sor-"Didn't I tell you about being sorry it wasn't your fault, now let's have this breakfast it looks delicious." I change topic. Even though verbally I seemed fine but mentally I was broken. Did I want Steph back? Did he actually mean what he said?
"Aaliyah I don't know what to tell you." Klay says out of know where.
"I know Steph when he wants something he gets it." Klay continues.
"I know." I say eating more food. I was too caught up in my thoughts to focus on a conversation.
"Thank you." I smile and get up from the table and go to the guest room again. My head hits the pillow and I'm out like a light.
*moments later*
I scrunch my eye trying to avoid opening them as music fills my ears.
"KLAY SHUT UP WITH THAT DAMN MARVIN GAYE!" I yell across the house.
"THATS NOT ME!" he yells back. My face becomes twisted with confusion. I get up from the bed following the noise as it leads me to my window. There on the front lawn I see Steph holding up a stereo over his head.
"I LOVE YOU AALIYAH HAUGHTON!" He screams. I laugh at his words. I drop my smile along with the blinds making me not see the silly human below. Suddenly I hear a tap and I go up the the window and fall to the ground. There Steph was holding on to the tree branches.
"Forgive me?" He offers.
"Goodbye Steph." I wave closing my blinds and curtains this time.
"Klay!" I call for him.
"Yeah!?" He answers back.
"When does the does the sprinklers turn on!" I ask with a smirk visible on my face.
"Right about now why?!" He says confused but gives in anyway. I don't answer instead suddenly a scream is heard and I peep out the window seeing Steph on the ground getting soaked. That had to hurt but it still couldn't even be compared to the amount of pain he put me through. For Steph this was a long road for payback and a even longer road of recovery for me.
