Chapter 1
Nathan
Silence.
And chaos.
Two opposite things that you could befriend or become an enemy.
Silence is what most people would ask when they want to think or be their selves even just for awhile. But who knew it could ever bring so much despair and too much loneliness at times you never asked for.
There are times chaos will be by your side. In a fight you could be on the winning side or on the losing one. The thing is, it’s up to you on how you could control chaos that may bring utter destruction or victory in your life. That depends on how wise you are, actually. And how foolish you could get.
And currently, I'm fighting.
Literally, that’s what I mean. Believe it or not, I’m currently fighting for the past thirty minutes and my gang’s winning.
I twirled my knife playfully as I had a staring contest with our enemy’s leader. One of his men tried to hit me but before he could, one of my own blocked his fist and knocked him unconscious.
Six feet.
That’s our only distance left as the leader and I stalked towards each other. His bruised and exhausted men parted for him and so did mine except for the fact that my gang mates are not as exhausted as his.
His angered face and arrogant sneer became more visible as he stopped two feet from me. He struck first.
Air whistled past my ear as his fist missed my face. Stepping back, I kicked him in the chest and he was sent flying. Glaring at me, he stood and started to run towards me. Twirling my knife once again, I put on a stance and then sent the knife flying in the air as its blade buried in my opponent’s chest right through his heart.
Blood spilled in his mouth as he choked and dropped on his knees.
Then multiple gun shots were heard in the air as one by one our remaining enemies dropped to the ground.
A hand clasped on my back and I turned. It was one of my gang mates, Drake as he showed me a necklace on his palm.
“Their leader dropped this accidentally,” he explained. “Know what this means?”
My jaw locked and my eyes narrowed into slits.
“This is the symbol of the Necromancer,” I said and glared at the pendant as if I could pulverize it. “It is owned by a certain gang in the Philippines.”
Drake's eyes lit up as he grinned at me knowingly. I nodded and he turned away from me.
“Heads up, my friends!” he said enthusiastically as our gang mates listened intently. “Pack your things we're leaving for the Philippines next week!”
I mentally face palmed. I just hope this guy ain’t going nuts.
