Chapter 5

Nathan

Drake and I were both under aged so driving a car at this hour, we had to be cautious and there is no way that I’m gonna let a stranger drive my Mustang. My headlights were turned off and the three of us were silent. We placed Ice's bike at the back compartment to avoid attention from roaming police officers at this hour.

No one spoke until Ice pointed out something ahead of us. I squinted my eyes in the faint light and saw another problem ahead.

“Something’s going on,” Ice said. “I sense trouble.”
“It's late,” Drake said and yawned. “But I could use some action for tonight.”

I snickered. Let's do this.

When we faced them, I attacked first. Both my knives pierced the hands pointing guns to their captives and they dropped their weapons, grasping their hands. I went straight to the man left while Drake and Ice dealt with the other two that I threw knives at. The man spat before throwing a punch at me. I easily deflected his fist and I threw one back at him. His head was thrown back and I wasted no time and grabbed his arm then pulled him towards my back and flipped him to the ground.

Next thing we knew, three masked men were already tied on the ground and are completely unconscious.

“Dang,” Drake cursed and snapped his neck to the side and we all heard a snap. “I could really get some sleep right here.”

“Go ahead,” Ice said and smirked. “But we’re leaving you here. We could provide you some blankets and a pillow if you want, though.”

Drake gave her a blank look. “Ha ha.”

I walked towards the siblings – or assumed that they were because of the similarities – that we just saved.

“You guys okay?” I asked.

“Yeah,” her brother answered. “Thanks for helping me and my sister.”

I nodded. I met the guy's eyes briefly and understanding dawned on me so I quickly shifted my focus at his sister. The girl I saved twice for this day: Keila Takumi.

“Thank you,” her voice was small when she spoke up.

I raised an eyebrow at her. “You sure you're okay?”

She rolled her eyes at me. I guess she’s fine now.

“I'm Blake Amuel Takumi,” Keila's brother introduced. “And this is my sister—.”

“We know each other,” Keila cut him off.

Blake nodded and gave me a small smile. “We’re leaving. Thank you again.”

I bowed my head a little. “You’re welcome.”

Once the Takumi siblings left, the three of us set off to go home too.

Rock music blasted out as I opened the door of our unit.

“Wooh!” Drake yelled and went in before me. “’Sup men?”

“Hey Drake, Nathan!” the guy on our couch hurled a throw pillow and I caught it right before it hit my face. Then he glanced at Ice. “And . . .?”

“Vince this is Ice,” I introduced at the guy sitting on the couch.

Ice wiggled her fingers in greeting to Vince and to the guy who just got in the living room.

“Hey, Colton!” Drake called at the guy who just appeared. “Where’s Damion?”

“At the kitchen,” Colton answered. His eyebrow raised as he saw Ice but then started head banging on the music.
