"Dude," my friend Brandon says, as we walk to my next class. My other friend Cameron King is with us. He's not as talkative, but he's extremely fast. Which reminds me.
"We should all try out for the track team," I blurt out.
"I can't, I'm doing soccer this year and I'm already failing some classes," Cam says.
"Well would ya at least come?" I say.
"When are they?" He asks.
"Umm on Friday, September 9th," I say.
"I'll come, soccer tryouts are the 8th," he says shrugging.
"So come try out for track," I say and playfully punch his arm. He winces.
"Cameron, is something wrong?" Brandon asks, putting his hand on Cam's shoulder.
"No, I'm all fine," he says, pushing Brandon away.
"Okay," Brandon says.
"Let's meet at lunch," I suggest.
"Yeah that works, I'll see ya," Brandon says, as we reach room 219.
"Yeah, bye Ky," Cam says walking into room 219. Brandon follows.
I start walking to my next class, room 223.
"Hey! Watch it!" I hear Derek's voice. Ugh. The kid never learns. Derek is the schools' bully. He is a total idiot. He's talking to another kid. The kids' got dark brown messy hair and glasses.
"Don't talk to him like that!" I hear some girl say. She pushes the Derek away from the boy. She has this light blonde hair. She's wearing a flower dress too. She's also pretty short.
"Who? This fag, Princess?" Derek says to her, pointing to the boy.
"Hey, don't use that foul language!" She shouts.
"London, stop," the boy says. Whoa. He actually talks loud enough for people to hear.
"Isaac," the girl apparently named London pleads.
"I'm sorry for bumping into you," the boy named Isaac says.
"Sorry ain't gonna cut it," Derek says. Then pushes Isaac to the ground. That's it. I walk to Derek.
"Hey Derek!" I yell. He looks at me then I punch him in the face with my right hand, my stronger hand. He stumbles back. I look at my fist. I've never done that before. Check that off my buc-
Pain strikes my right eye. I feel my body hit the ground. Then I feel a kick in my side. I see Derek's foot getting ready to strike again, but I roll away. I then get up, his back is against the lockers. I strike again, with my left hand this time. This time it collides with something much harder. Hard metal. Shit. That hurt. That was the locker. Next thing I know that same arm is twisted behind my back. He kicks my spine, I fall to my knees. He strikes again. This time my head hits the ground. It hurts badly. The edges in my vision start to blacken.
"DEREK HAMILTON! KYSON BLAKE!" I hear a teacher say. Derek lets go.
"KYSON!" I hear the sound of my Kelsey's voice. That's the last thing I hear before my world goes black.
