❁ Scarlet ❁
"Cheers!" My closest friends, Jasmine, Eric, Ashley, and I all clanked our drinks together. We had just graduated from college the day before and it was my 21st birthday. We had to celebrate.
My friends insisted that they'd be the first to take me out on my first drink, but honestly, I couldn't handle the strong taste. I tried my hardest not to laugh at how fast Eric got his gay-self drunk. Ashley decided to take away Eric's drink when he got up and started to flirt with the bartender.
"He's from Brazil", so Eric said.
Eric quieted down once Jasmine and Ashley were able to keep him in his seat. Jasmine took one more sip of her Bloody Mary before noticing that I've barley touched my first glass.
"Come one, Scarlet! You're finally 21, have some fun!" She said, giving me a nudge at my arm.
"Sorry, I don't want to over do it tonight. I have a big interview tomorrow."
"Woah you're looking for a job already?" Jasmine and Ashley said in unison followed by a, "Ooh you go girl," from Eric.
"Mhm! I'm applying for an internship in Paris with the CEO of the Corpse Fashion House, Miranda Corps." I said excitedly.
Their eyes widened and they all hugged me at once, so tight that I could barley breathe.
"Scarlet that's awesome! We're so proud of you!" Ashley cried.
"Th-thank...you", I said between breaths.
"You've been dreaming of working for her ever since you were little right?" Asked Jasmine.
"Yea, I just love her designs."
"Oh yea, her spring collection last year aired on TV, and it was like the biggest fashion show of the season. The clothes were absolutely stunning," Eric added.
Jasmine shoved my unfinished glass in my face. "Drink it. This one is for good luck."
I hesitated for a moment, but taking the glass and jugging it down, then trying to hold back my coughing.
My friends cheered.
My flight was that night, and honestly it was all a blur. I already had arrangements for at a hotel next to the Corpse fashion house.
A kind doorman helped me with my luggage up to my room. After he left, I quickly unpacked, got ready for bed, and crashed to sleep.

I woke up to the sound of my alarm.
It was 8:30 am, my interview starts in an hour. I promised myself that I wouldn't get drunk last night but I don't even remember how I got into bed.
After stretching my arms, I sat up and a sharp pain pounded my head. I groaned as I snaked out of bed and crawled into my bathroom to shower, brush my teeth, and take a pain killer.
I can't look like a zombie today, for I have a once in a lifetime interview.
It took me almost thirty minutes to shower, put on my outfit that I had picked out a couple nights before, and apply light makeup. I decided to let my hair air-dry into its usual straight-wavy manner, for my hair dries pretty quickly.
I was wearing pastel pink tights, a black skater skirt, and a loose burgundy shirt paired white a knitted-white infinity scarf. I slipped on my brown high-heeled combat boots and a matching shoulder bag to complete the look.
