I had been scrolling through the Internet to find a part time job aside from working at the fashion house. With Ashley living here, it was going to be easier to pay the monthly fees.
I had just applied for a job at Forever XXI and Hot Topic, which are in the same mall close to the fashion house.
A/n: low key my favorite stores.
My plan was to apply for more than one job just in case I didn't get one or the other.
After I finished, I decided to finally go to sleep. Once I was under my covers I looked over at my clock reading 4am.
A few seconds later I was out like a light.

I was startled out of sleep when my alarm clock went off. I couldn't open my eyes while I was trying to feel for the clock on my night stand, and slapped it silent.
I didn't have the motivation to put much effort in my look for the day. I zombie walked over to the bathroom to freshen up and pulled my hair into a loose braid.
For today, I decided to throw on some shorts, a floral crop top, knit cardigan, and matching accessories. My makeup was light.

I grabbed my phone and headed out the door for my job interview at the mall. During the train ride, I put on my earbuds and played my favorite playlists. I couldn't resist humming to Young and Beautiful, and I didn't care when I noticed a few people staring at me.
I got off at my stop which happened to be right across from the mall, and made my way over to the store.
"Hi, can I help you with something?" A boy, with an oversized denim jacket and white ball cap, said with a sweet smile.
"Hi I'm here for a part-time job that you're offering?" I asked.
"Oh follow me, I'll take you to the manager's office." He said, motioning me to follow. "I'm Jeramy by the way."
"Scarlet." I said, returning a smile.
He knocked on the door and a man's voice answered with 'come in'. Jeramy opened the door and motioned for me to go in, closing it behind me.
A woman ,wearing store clothing and a head set, was talking to a handsome man who seemed a bit familiar-
"Caleb?" I called out to him, getting his attention and interrupting their conversation.
"Oh hey, Scarlet." He turned to me and gave me a welcoming smile.
"W-What are you doing here?" I asked, shocked by this little coincidence.
"I own this mall." He said, as though it were obvious. "What are you doing here?"
"I'm here for a job offering." I said. The woman Caleb was talking to noticed the atmosphere and tried to get into this conversation.
"Oh I've been expecting you, Scarlet. And I already see that you have connections with my boss. Have a seat and we'll talk about the job." He beckoned for me to sit in a chair in front of her desk, and I did so.
"I'll step out." Caleb said, slipping out of the room. The woman nodded.
"Hi sweetie, my name is Candy and in the manager at Forever XXI at this mall." She greeted. "And you're looking for a part-time job here right?" She asked, and I nodded.
"Ok, and what's your relationship with Mr. Corps?" My heart started to speed up and my palms started to sweat.
"I work for his mom at Corpse fashion house, and he is my mentor."
"Ah" she winked at me." Ok, what days are you free?"
"Weekends." I answered simply.
"Ok cool, can you start this Saturday afternoon? You'll have Jeramy be your training buddy." She giggled.
"Yes! Thank you so much!" I stood up and shook her hand, then exiting the room to head home and cancel my interview with Hot Topic.

I had heard the whole conversation, and I did not like the idea very much. Knowing that working with me isn't enough for Scarlet. I don't know what has gotten into me, but I wanted to keep her to myself.
I hear the door knob click open and I quickly act natural.
"Bye, Caleb. I'll see you at work tomorrow." She waved, walking past me.
"See cya, Scarlet." I gave her a solute, and went into the room to talk to Candy.
"Listen," I tell her to get her attention, placing my hands on her desk. "I'm going to need for you to take back your offer and fire Scarlet."
"What why? I just hired her and we need more people working at this store." Her tone changed into a more angry one.
"I have my reasons. And have you forgotten who you work for?" She became silent. "If you don't follow my order then I'll resign you." Her eyes grew watery, but I didn't care.
"Yes sir." She nodded, looking at the ground.
"Good." I said, straightening my suit jacket and walking out.
I never liked being Scarlet's mentor. It meant that I can't have the relationship I wanted with her, and it wouldn't look good for my fashion label. Plus, that girl is beyond talented and she deserves a job that best suits her.
