Samuel's POV
We didn't expect what we found. There are weird days, even for demigods. There are especially bad days, but we rarely let it bother us, much less go crazy over it. But it had happened, Percy had finally snapped. He was running around destroying the entire place, whether it was slashing with his sword, crushing with his fist, or obliterating with a torrent of water, something about this place made him want this place gone.
"Should we stop him?" I asked. "I mean, he does have as much right as any of us, seeing as he was trapped here for a while, making his quest that much harder. Besides, it would make sure that no one else would get trapped here."
"But people might get hurt." She said. "Besides, for some of these people, it is the only salvation that they will ever get." I sighed.
"Fine, let's stop him." She ran off after him.
"Stop." I heard as I was about to join her. "I told you to let the team fall apart from the inside out. That time is now, you must honor that agreement."
"But, my sister might get herself killed if I don't help her. The two of us fight better in tandem."
"This is non-negotiable. If you do not let the events take it's course, I will put you right back where I left you." I bit my lip.
"What do I have to give you to let myself be free?"
"Follow this order, let the team self-destruct, and you shall be free."
"My first duty is to my sister."
"Understandable. But do not get involved." Just then, Sam slammed into the wall, full force. I ran over to her.
"You okay?" She groaned.
"Peachy."
"LEAVE ME ALONE!" Percy shouted. I turned to him. Surrounding him was a dark aura, one that guaranteed that this was not a normal insanity. He raised one hand, summoning a pyre of water, and shot it at us. Faster than you could blink, I had my bow out and an arrow notched. I shot it at his feet and it exploded, knocking him off his feet, and breaking his concentration. The water lost all its power and gently splashed us.
"Come on, let's- Ahh!" Sam said, trying to get up.
"No," I said, easing her back down. "That feels like a broken rib. You're not getting into any kind of fight until I can treat it. Stay here and don't move." I said. I put my bow on my back and drew my long knives.
"Stop, you mustn't get involved." I ignored the voice. "I will send you back to that hole where I found you." I continued to ignore it as I crept behind Percy (who had completely forgotten about us). "Do you forget already what you saw?" At that, I stopped. "The monsters that roamed the streets and the earth and the sky? Do you forget what had become of your precious civilization? Do you forget, what happened to your precious family? Do you remember what happened to your precious gods?" I froze, tears welling in my eyes, remembering the carnage that I saw. "My team and I can prevent that. We know all the decisions that lead to that and we can change it. So abandon your gods, let us rule, instead. Let us make the world a better place." I was about to say something when a female voice resounded throughout the entire casino.
"PERSEUS JACKSON WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING?" All movement stopped. Percy turned to her, the aura disappearing.
"Annabeth?" She walked over to him.
"You had better have a good explanation for this."
"Well, I-I mean... No." She slapped him. "What was that f-" he tried to say before she kissed him hard on the lips.
"Don't ever make me worry like that again." He smiled at her. Then she slapped him in the back of the head, now get Thalia and Nico. I'll get Ricard and Angela. Sam, get your sister and Zane." She said, we broke. I walked over to Sam.
"Here, have some nectar." I said, handing her a canteen. Then a shot fired past my head. I turned around to see the woman from the front desk, shotgun pointed at me.
"Next time, I won't miss." She said cheerily. I pulled out an arrow, threw it at her, and held my breath. The capsule at the end of the arrow popped open and released a gas that knocked her out. I turned to Sam as she was guzzling down the nectar, starting to glow. I snatched the canteen from her.
"No dying on me, the world is ending and we have no time in our schedule for you to die." She huffed. She got up, now in perfect health. "Now lets go grab your boyfriend."
"Nico?"
"No, the other one."
"Percy?"
"He's taken. The other one."
"Thalia?"
"I said boyfriend."
"Zane?"
"Shpingo." We walked over to Zane who was playing a deer hunger game. Rather than talk to him, I went behind him, grabbed his forehead (yes, I reached all the way across his head), and walked backwards, taking him with us. The three groups met outside the casino, now everyone with their wits about them.
"What are you three doing here?" Percy asked.
"You've been gone a week with no word." Annabeth said.
"Chiron got concerned, seeing as this is a Great Quest." The red-head, Angela said.
"So he sent us to find you and to tell you to get your asses in gear." Richard said.
"Did you really come half-way around the country just to find little old me?" I asked Richard. He rolled his eyes, those deep purple eyes that looked like they were amethysts when the sun shined on them. I'm still not gay... I think.
"Well?" Sam asked, I turned to see the lot of them staring at me.
"Well, what?" I asked. Richard laughed, a deep throaty laughed.
"Next time, if you want to stare longingly into my eyes, make sure there isn't a conversation going on." I flushed.
"I wasn't looking longingly! I was merely appreciating the deep purple-ness of them." He chuckled.
"Sure." He said with a knowing look.
"Oh, please, get a room if your going to keep going.." Sam said sarcastically. I rolled my eyes.
"So what were we talking about?"
"Where the next god could be." Annabeth said.
"Wait, you're coming with us?" I said, suprised.
"The three of us are." Angela said. "We can't risk you messing this up."
"And here I thought we had something special." I said in mock hurt. She rolled her eyes.
"Please, I realized that your not exactly my type." I became genuinely shocked.
"Really? What is you type then?"
"Boobs and a vagina." She said, nonchalantly.
"Ah."
"Anyway, the other gods." Percy said, becoming slightly uncomfortable.
"Hades is at Mount Tam." I said, no idea were it came from. There was a general murmur of agreement.
"Okay then," Annabeth said. "Next stop, Mount Tam." Everybody got onto the bus again (a little dusty from a week of non-use), when the voice resounded in my head, louder than I've ever heard it, so much so that my head was splitting apart from the sound.
"THAT IS ONCE YOU HAVE FAILED ME! HOW DARE YOU?! I SHOULD SEND YOU BACK TO THAT HELLHOLE OF A PLANET YOU ONCE CALLED HOME! BUT WHAT GOOD WOULD THAT DO ME?! SO NOW, YOU MUST DO MORE THAN STAND BACK AND LET EVENTS TAKE IT'S COURSE! YOU MUST STOP THIS NEW GROUP OF THREE FROM RUINING MY GLORIOUS PLAN! IF YOU FAIL, I WILL MAKE YOU WISH THAT YOU WERE NEVER BORN!" I was on the ground holding my head, pain being my only thought besides the words. But just as quickly as the voice started, it ended, and there was silence.
"You okay?" Sam asked from the door of the bus. I got up, composed myself, and nodded.
"Yeah, just a headache."
