Samuel's POV
As the lovers were doing, gods know what, we looked around a little bit. And you want to know what the weird thing was? We didn't find anything. Not a single god, monster, human, titan, giant, demi-god, or anything else. Nothing was holding up the sky. It was like what I would imagine mortals would see, but the sky did physically touch the ground. It was impossible. But remembering some of the stuff that I've seen, this is not all that implausible. Then Romeo and his Juliet got up from the side of cliff.
"Hey, what took you two so long? And what's with the blushes?" I yelled, holding back my sarcasm. It was obvious what the two had done. The contents of the situation, I don't know, but the result is the same.
"Shut up." She said. Nico unconsciously rubbed his cheek. Oh, so that's how it is.
"Is he really that bad a kisser?" I toyed.
"She told you to shut the hell up." He said.
"Oh, so he was possessed, too? That was fast." Sam walked up to me, knife in hand. She grabbed my shirt and pulled me close to her face, fire and hatred in her eyes.
"I thought I told you to shut up." She said through clenched teeth. I rolled my eyes and grabbed her wrist tight with one hand. I kicked her foot forward and pushed her shoulder back. She held onto my shirt in a death grip as she tried to regain her balance. I held my grip over her while I grabbed her shoulder. I twisted her arm behind her, pinned it to her back, and sat on her, pinning her to the ground.
"What's gotten into you?" I asked. She struggled against my grip. "And this is a simple hold, you should be able to get out of this." Percy put a hand on my shoulder and shoved me off of Sam. He gripped her shirt and brought her up to his face, knuckles white, jaw clenched, and muscles tight.
"What did you do to Nico?" He said through clenched teeth.
"What the fuck are you talking about?"
"Don't play dumb. Nico's like a little brother to me." I noticed Nico clench his jaw at that and a quick flash of sadness. "What did you do to him?"
"I didn't do anything." Then Nico came up and shoved Percy off of her and glared at him.
"I don't need you butting in with what I do."
"I don't care what you think you need. I know what's best for you." Thalia rolled her eyes.
"And here he is, the great Percy Jackson. Saves the world once or twice and he is suddenly a king among men." She said.
"Butt out of this, Airhead." Percy said, practically spitting poison.
"I don't care what you say about the others, but don't you dare say anything about Thalia, seaweed brain." Angela said.
"What, we're nothing compared to Thalia? The hell is that all about?" Richard growled.
"And nobody calls him seaweed brain but me." Annabeth said.
"Butt out, Olive breath." Nico said.
"Don't talk to her like that!" Percy said.
"Don't talk to him like that!" Sam yelled.
"Why are you taking his side?" Zane yelled. The fighting escalated. They were all shouting at each other, trying to get their insults at each other over the noise. I stood there, watching. I could tell that something was not right, I focused all my attention to finding the real cause to this. I drew my hunting knives, closed my eyes and listened, blocking out the screaming of my friends.
Out of nowhere, I slashed behind me, breaking an illusion, showing a man made of shadows with dark energy pouring off of him, and a teenager sitting on a column, laughing and pointing at the argument.
