It was warm, a lot wearer than I thought it would be. When we finally got to Las Vegas, I thankfully knew where to go. We went to the little hole-in-the-wall place called the Lotus Casino. Right before we went in, we had a final pep talk.
"Okay, be careful. In there, you get sucked in and you never want to leave." Percy said.
"Time also moves slower in there." Nico said. "What can seem as a few days in there can be a few weeks out here."
"Just keep thinking that we have to find Poseidon and you should be fine." I said. They walked in through the front door.I was stalled by a voice.
"Give up. The gods deserve what's commingled to them." A voice deeper than the whole of reality said.
"They may not be perfect, but they're worth it." I said and walked in. From the first step, I knew that this was going to be more trouble than it's worth. Everyone except Sam was running around or playing the games. Sam was trying to snap them out to no avail. I walked over to her.
"What happened to them?" She asked.
"The casino uses the scents of a special lotus that makes you never want to leave, including making you forget all about whatever you are doing."
"Then why aren't we effected?"
"Artemis helped make them. As a trade, it doesn't effect her or her children."
"Okay. So what do we do now?"
"We find Poseidon and hope that he can knock some sense into the others." The two of us walked around until we found a check-in desk.
"Excuse me? Is there any place that we cant access." I asked. She looked up, a smile plastered on her face.
"What level is your guest card?" She asked, cheerfully. Sam brought out a card that seemed to be made of pure gold. The woman's eyes widened.
"Oh my word! I haven't seem an Imperial Gold card in Ages." She said. "There is nowhere in the casino that is open to guests that you can't go!"
"Is there a place where guests can't go?" Sam asked.
"Only through that door."She said, pointing at the door behind her. "Why?" I summoned my bow and quiver, notched an arrow, and pointed it at her before she could blink.
"We're going back there, if you don't mind." I said. She kept smiling.
"I don't have a problem with it," She said. "But security might." Out of the door, three women came out. One was covered with a black veil.
"I'm so glad you came back. Now, who called us?" The veiled woman said.
"Of course, the Gorgon sisters."
