When we arrive at Zeke's again, he immediately begins. "Stiff candor or dauntless?" I bite my lip. "Um.. Da-" "not you, four." Uriah says. Tobias stands up, and begins to walk towards Uriah. Uriah looks like a little girl cowering into fear. "Hey!" He shouts. Was it something I said? "You're talking out loud again." Christina says. You're talking out loud again. I mimic her in my head, "shut up!" She shouts, slapping my arm playfully. Fours real name is.... "What's four's real name?" Uriah asks. "Dauntless." Four says. "Aww. She almost said it." Will says. "I dare you to goto your old stiff house, and say hello to your family. I'll be there, and so will Trissy Poo! Maybe she knows your family." Uriah says. What a bitch. "Tris! Four! That's not very stiff like to say!" Ezekiel says. "Did four say what a bitch too?" I ask. Christina nods. Well then... "You did it again!" Will says.
Uriah, Tobias, and I are sitting on the train, nearing the grey houses of Abnegation. All of them still seem so... comforting to me. "So, who is your family?" Uriah asks Tobias. "Well, someone I'd never want to see again. Then we'll have to stop by the faction less section to see my mother." "Wha?" Uriah says. I shake my head, and lean my head against Tobias's shoulder. "Are you ready to see Marcus again?" I whisper to Tobias. "I don't know.. but you're here, so.. will you protect me? Again but this time in reality and not my fear landscape?" I chuckle a bit, "sure, if we can stop by my house before we leave, then I want to visit Caleb." I whisper.
"Next stop, Abnegation!" Uriah exclaims jumping off. I jump off after him, rolling, then Tobias drops down, and lands on his feet behind me. "That was magnificent!" Uriah shouts. A group of Abnegation children are running our way, but then they see us, and turn around and run into their homes. "Well, Abnegation aren't very fond of Dauntless, now are they?" Uriah pouts. He knocks on a door, and Mrs. black answers the door, frightened to see Uriah there, "hello!" He says waving. "I'm Uriah." Mrs. black gulps. "I-I'm Mrs.Black." She stutters. I walk up next to Uriah, and grab his shoulders. "Hi, Mrs.Black, its Beatrice, do you remember me?" I ask. She smiles and opens the door wider. "Hello, Beatrice, how are you?" "Fine, how's Susan and Robert?" "Well, I visited Robert on Visiting Day, he's fitting right into Amity, and I haven't seen Susan since she transferred with Caleb to Erudite." "Well, that's a shame, I better get going." I say pushing Uriah off the steps. Mrs.Black catches a glance of Tobias, and he quickly looks down. "Is that...?" She begins to ask but trails off, "yes, Mrs.Black. Don't tell anyone, we don't want to cause a fuss, we were just going over to... Marcus's house." I whisper so Uriah doesn't hear.
"Uriah, don't go door to door, talking to people!" I hiss in the street. "Just one more house?" He pleads. "You said that five houses ago. These people were are all my neighbors! I look like an idiot because of you and so does to-Four!" Uriah huffs and walks over to another door. I turn, and begin talking with Tobias. "Let's ditch him." I say. "He doesn't know the way back." Tobias says defending Uriah. "Do you want me to go with y to your old house or not?" I ask. "Just wait for him, please?" He says putting his hands on my shoulders. "Fine." I sigh in defeat. Tobias pulls me into a hug, when a startled voice calls. "Who are you!" The voice shrieks. It was a man. Uriah must be at someone's house. I round the corner, and see Uriah next to an open door. I roll my eyes, and walk over there, nor looking inside. "I'm so sorry, see, this is Uriah, he's mentally disabled-" "Beatrice?" I look up, and see my parents staring back at me.
"Beatrice, come on in." My mother says. "Four!" I shout. Tobias runs over, thinking something is wrong since I called him four, but sees my mother. "Oh, it's your instructor." My mom says flatly. "And her boyfriend." Uriah giggles cheekily. "Uriah!" I say. My mother just smiles. "Hello, four." "Hi, mrs.Prior." My mother brings us in, and people peek through the windows, catching glimpses of my mother acting kindly around dauntless.
Me, Tobias, and my mother sit on the sofa in my old living room, while Uriah looks at all of the pictures of us on the wall (a/n I know it's considered selfish, but it's a fanfic.) of me, and Caleb as a child. "So, what brings you three to Abnegation?" My father asks coldly when he sits down on the couch. "Well, see we're playing candor or dauntless, so.. um yah." Uriah says, not looking up from the pictures. "Hey, um, tris, were you always this chubby?" Uriah asks. My mother laughs, and I just blush. "So, four, how are you?" My mom asks. "Great." "So, I heard you're dating my daughter." My father says. "You don't remember a few days ago?" I ask. "No, honey, I don't." "We should get going." Uriah says. "Bye." My father says, and shoves us out the door.
"He's not very nice." Uriah pouts. "He hates me, because I transferred, he wanted me to be his perfect little selfless Abnegation daughter." I say.
When we arrive at Tobias's house, Uriah gapes at it. "It-it-it's beautiful." He says. "Uriah, all the houses are the same." I say. "Oh.." He says sadly. Tobias takes in a long, deep breath, and knocks on the door.
The door opens, and Marcus stands there. I'm in the front, then Uriah, then Tobias. "Hello, Marcus." I say. "WHAT IS YOUR SONS NAME??" Uriah shouts in his face. Marcus wipes spit off of his face, then brushes off his suit. "I don't have a son." "Yes you do." Uriah says. "He lives in dauntless." Marcus stiffens at the word dauntless. "My son is a traitor, I don't consider him my son, I consider him a faction traitor, and a disgrace to his name. If you have anything to do with my son, I hate you too." "Marcus-" "Beatrice, you're a traitor, get out of my face." Tobias brushes past Uriah and I, and pokes Marcus's chest. "Listen up, Marcus. I am not a traitor, I left because of you. You treated me horribly. You beat me. YOU locked me in a closet for hours and let me bleed on the floor. YOU gave me nightmares. YOU are the reason mom left, and YOU are the reason that you are in my fear landscape, and that's saying a lot. And tris is not a traitor, she is everything but that." Tobias hisses. Marcus stares up at tobias not in anger, pity, or sadness, but in fear. He had only been abusive, because he was the stronger one. "What do you mean, fear landscape?" Marcus asks. "During dauntless initiation, you have to face al, of your fears. Tobias only has four, and you are the last one, making you his worst fear." Marcus smiles, "good, now leave." He slams the door in our faces.
Back in dauntless
"How'd it go?" Marlene chirps. "Awful, Uriah knocked on five of my neighbors doors, then my parents. Finally we went to-" "we went to Tobias's house, and Marcus, his father was talking smack to tris about them, when he stepped up, and explained a lot, it's complicated, and then we left." Uriah finishes. "Thanks." I say sarcastically. "Your welcome." He says.
"Wait, Tobias, as in Tobias eaton?" Will asks. Tobias brings his knees up to his face, and I sit next or him, rubbing his back. "Yes, his father was the leader of abnegation, he as very abusive to him." I say. "His mother is the faction less leader too." Uriah says. "Tobias, it's your turn." Zeke says. "Don't call me that, call me Four."
