"Y-You were-- Buh- Huh?" Tobias dumbfoundedly stumbles for words.

"Wait, who is this guy?" Christina asks, as confused as me, possibly more. "Okay, guys, don't be stupid. This is Amar." Uriah explains slowly. "Wait, are you Amar? Four, zekey, Shauna, who is 'Amar'?" Uriah uses quotation marks in the air with his fingers.

"Amar, meet-"

"Wait, let me guess!" Uriah whines, cutting Zeke off.

"Okay, so we know he's dauntless, and that four, Shauna, and Zeke all know him, which they are both two years older, so none of us know about him. That must mean, he had a job that was kind of discreet-"

"Let me guess, he was an erudite transfer?" The Amar person asks.

"Is it that obvious?" Will asks.

"No." Lynn says sarcastically.

"Okay, I'm gonna go off on a limb here and say you're divergent." Marlene crosses her arms.

"How do you know that?" Amar whispers.

"Whenever these guys were in initiation, you, their instructor, killed himself by jumping into the chasm."

"Well, she's the smart one of the group." Amar announced.

"I knew you didn't do that yourself." Tobias says, his deep voice making my heart melt.

"Well, you were right. It was dauntless leadership. I thought max and. We're friends, we were initiation buddies." He sighs.

"So.. Are we still gonna play candor or dauntless, or..?" Uriah asks, breaking the silence that filled the air.

"Let's go!" Amar announces, and the group erupts into cheering. We run back to the apartment, but we stop at the pit to get cake first.

Amar sticks by Tobias' right side, and I'm on his left. "Can you tell her to go off, I need to talk to you, alone." Amar whispers to Tobias quite loudly.

"Whatever you have to say, she can hear it, too."

Amar sighs, and looks at me. "It's about your divergence." He whispers trying to be quieter than before.

"She knows." Amar sighs loudly.

"Okay, fine. It's not about your divergence, it's someone else's." He pulls the two of us into a corridor with no cameras.

"Someone had an aptitude for dauntless, erudite and-"

"Abnegation?" I ask quite bored.

"Yes. How'd you-"

"It's her aptitude." Tobias answers, not letting him finish his sentence.

"Oh, hi, it's nice to meet you." He holds his hand out to me, smiling.

I look to Tobias and he motions to amars hand. "Tris." I reply flatly, shaking his hand.

"So, there's going to be a war. Erudite is getting dauntless forces, and they're going to kill abnegation. They're breaking rules, four. We need more Intel. Know anybody that can help map out abnegation?" Tobias looks to me.

"Okay, you guys are like the same person. So if you're both from abnegation, we need a map. We-"

"We?" I raise my eyebrows, asking for an explanation.

He sighs, "not the time."

"Yes, it is the time. Explain, now." Tobias demands.

"I'm working with faction less."

"Count me out." Tobias says immediately.

"What, why?" I ask, Amar sighs. "I'm too old for is. Evelyn said you would bail the second I said that, but you need to do what's best-"

"Abnegation is where he is and you know who I'm talking about. Faction less is where she is, and you know who I'm talking about."

Evelyn. That name sticks to me somehow. As Tobias and Amar bicker, I think of an Evelyn I know. Abnegation. He. She. Marcus eaton. Evelyn. Evelyn eaton.

"I thought Evelyn was dead." I say, and they both stare at me.

"She faked her death with the help of abnegation leadership. And Amar, I'm done. I'm not helping you." Tobias walks off, leaving me there with Amar.

"Tris, you have to know what's for the best-"

"I'll help you. Save my parents, and I want my brother to be safe too."

"I need names, and we may have ourselves a deal. You need to get four into this. We need all the help we can get."

"My parents- Natalie and Andrew Prior, my brother Caleb Prior."

"We were going to save your parents, but your brother was to be out on trial, as well as other erudite helpers involved."

"Save him, and we'll have ourselves a deal." I grab his collar, and shove him back slightly, then run to catch up with Tobias.

I find him in the ring, fighting some random person, the I realize that the person he's fighting is Eric. People place bets on who they think will win, then I see Lynn screaming at Tobias to knock him dead.

Tobias punches his jaw, then his nose making a loud crack over the dauntless cheering, and then Eric goes to punch Tobias, but he blocks it, then kicks his side. He goes to punch Tobias again, but he grabs his arm, and flips him, Tobias starts kicking him when Eric backs out of the ring.
