WALKING THROUGH THE AISLES, she spotted the biscuits her cousin, Aria, had been wanting for months, and smiled, reaching for them. Someone bumped into her from the back, causing her to smash her body right through them.
"Fuck." A deeper raspy voice emerged from the man.
She turned slowly, body still in pain, and winced to look at the culprit. He groaned and stood up himself, and stuck his hand out at her to help her up.
"I'm sorry, let me help-" He paused abruptly stared at her with a foreign look in his eyes that she didn't recognize and couldn't pick out what it meant.
Was there a way to have your heart broken all over again, the same way it did years ago, in the same way, with only one look? If so, this was how it felt. Once his eyes met hers, he felt goosebumps rise on his arms and hairs rising on his back.
She changed so little; she still had those innocent, charming twinkles in her warm brown eyes, she still had the same ebony colored hair that stars seemed to swim in, and those lips, oh god those lips that he missed so much.
Did she recognize him? Did she remember him? Did her heart break this much too?
"Excuse me, sir? Are you ok?" She waved her hand over his eyes slowly, confused.
He guessed not.
"Yeah, sorry. Let me help you up." He coughed to conceal his surprise. He reached his arm back out at her, and her fingers slipped into his hand and they fit just as perfectly as they did years ago. He bit his lip as he resisted the urge to hold her, and ran his fingers through his hair.
She forgot about him-
The glimmer of her necklace caught his eye as it twinkled from the lights. He recognized that necklace, he gave it to her on their 2 year anniversary. Perhaps she hadn't?
She smiled awkwardly and pat the dust off her jeans and got up. "Yeah, thanks...sir."
Nevermind.
He gave her a smile and nodded. "No problem." And walked off.
Did she seriously forget about him? About them? The relationship they had for so long...broken just like that? He shoved his hands into his pockets and walked off.
She stared at him as he left. Wow, gosh he was gorgeous. With midnight black smoothed over hair, and a tint of the sunset in his hazel eyes. When he straightened up, he was so tall, with broad shoulders and back. His clothes seemed to give off an appealing vibe, with a leather jacket, with a olive tee and ripped jeans. There was something about him that seemed familiar, however. The flavor of how he spoke and the rasp in his sound.
She couldn't pin down exactly what though.
Shrugging it off, she went back home with the food she needed to get. Her phone buzzed.
A: FUCK I FORGOT THE PARTY IS TONIGHT :)))
She almost dropped the phone.
E: WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU MeAN ITS TONIGHT
E: ADRIENNE
E: I DON'T HAVE ANYTHING TO WEAR
E: !!!!!!!
A: YEAH SORRY I'LL FIND SOMETHING FOR YOU
Edenne sighed and opened the door to her house, shutting the door behind her as a tall white man rushed past her. She turned to see Aria standing at her bedroom door, a towel over her body, a beer in her hand, a cigarette in the other.
