DYLAN PACED IN HIS ROOM, walking from his window to his bedroom door, and back. He rubbed his hands together, then sat down on his bed, rubbing his nose softly. Anxious. Was that all he was feeling? He wasn't sure. But what he was sure of? Edenne Wei was the best kisser he's ever kissed in his entire life. She was like the burst of flavor in your mouth when you taste something you loved and had already had many times before, but each time was a different feeling.
"Damn it." He grunted, pounding his hands on the wall, where his posters were. "I'll just call her, get it over with." He dialed her number with nervous fingers.
"Hello?" A melodious voice sang from the other end.
"Hi, it's me." He leaned against the wall. "Dylan."
"Yeah, I can tell. I have your Caller ID." She replied.
"Oh really? What does it say? Hot Smoking Dude?" He crossed his arms and smiled to himself.
Rolling her eyes, she said. "If you keep doing this, I'm going to hang up on you." Edenne laughed. "But for your information, no. You're actually named...Disgust, with a middle finger emoji next to it."
He gasped playfully. "Damn, that hurts. I have you as Ede Bee...with a bee emoji."
"How sweet. Why'd you call me?"
"Oh yeah," He coughed, smoothing out his shirt as if she could see him. "Well, I was wondering if you wanted to maybe hang out sometime."
"Alright, what is it?"
"I don't know...maybe the park or something? I was thinking about maybe a movie afterwards, or of course we could just hang out and play video games-"
"No, I mean what is this? Is this a date? Is anyone else coming?" She asked cautiously.
"Well," Dylan scratched the back of his neck awkwardly, the pacing going again. "I was hoping it'd just be the two of us."
"So it's a date?"
"No, not exactly." He quickly sprung up. "It's just a hangout." His fingers curled up into a fist. Why was it so hard to ask her on a date?
Edenne rolled her eyes, "It's ok if it's a date, Dylan. You've already confessed your undying love for me."
"Shut up." He laughed. "Alright, alright. So it's a date, can you come?"
"Sure, but I don't want Alyssa to find out."
"Why?" Dylan asked, confused.
"What do you mean why? If she finds out, she'll go crazy." Edenne laughed. "She's done creepy things to you before, remember that picture she screenshotted of you? She even photoshopped herself in-"
"Alright, alright. I get the point." Dylan chuckled. "So no Alyssa, alright. I can work with that. Let's go out of town."
"Out of town? Are you mad?" Edenne gasped. "What if the car situation happens again?"
"I know people." Dylan smirked.
"You always know people."
"That's right."
Groaning, Edenne rubbed her temples. "How about we don't go that far for the first date."
"Alright, assuming you actually think we're going to go on other dates after this." Dylan smirked.
"Fuck you."
"I love you too."
