The Hidden Princess

Ugh being a guard in a village with no queen or king is completely hard! Our king had recently died and his wife died long ago. They never said why but I'm standing on the gates watching the forest for any suspicious activity. Garroth, the head guard, told me to watch out for a girl with her mother and brother so that's what I'm doing. Only Garroth knows about why the queen died and how. He said for me to send a letter to a village called Falcon Claw and that I wasn't to read it. I did as told since I was like his brother aside from Laurence and Dante. I saw a girl with silk black hair and beautiful bright hazelnut eyes come in one on a white horse. The person next to her had the same hair and bright green eyes. It was a woman and she was carrying a young boy about five or ten with the same hair and black eyes.

"Who's there." I said. They looked at me and I was the young girl's face. She was even more gorgeous when you looked her in the eyes. Wait don't think like that Aaron! You are a guard and you cant just start falling for some girl you just saw and met.

"Um I'm Lily and this is my son Jacob and daughter Aphmau." The young woman said. So that's the beautiful girl's name. Unique name.

"Miss Aphmau you have a very unique name." I said.

"Um thanks. Can we come in." She said and I opened the gates. I was only nineteen so I was aloud to be a guard. You can become a guard at the age of sixteen and that's what I did. I've only been a guard here for three years.

"Um who are you." Aphmau said.

"Oh I'm Aaron. The head guard said to watch for three people and I'm guessing they are you three." I said.

"Oh yes. I got a note form him saying to bring Aphmau here. It also said not to tell any other guards why we are here or what the note said. He said we will tell the village when we settle in." Lily said. The boy started to wake up.

"Mom are we there yet?" He asked.

"Yes Jacob. Come on and get up." Aphmau said. She is very beautiful.

"Aphy can you hold him." Lily said.

"Oh sure." She said and took Jacob from the woman.

"So let me show you around the village." I said.

"Oh um ok then." Lily said. I lead them to the stables were they put their horses and grabbed their bags and got off the horses. Aphmau almost fell but I caught her.

"Are you ok miss?" I asked and pulled her to her feet. She was blushing and looked down.

"I'm fine. my foot just got caught. Thank you." She said.

"It's my job to protect and make sure people are safe. Even if we've just met." I said and she smiled. Oh wow it looked like her smiled could brighten up a room in a second.

"Here let me get those." I said and grabbed her and her mother's bags.

"Oh that's not necessary. We can do that." Lily said.

"No I'm meant to do stuff like this. It's my job remember." I said and Aphmau picked up Jacob and I took them to the guard station because I have no idea where they are staying. I put their stuff down and looked at them.

"Stay here I will go get the head guard." I said and walked out the station. I walked to the plaza and saw Garroth.

"Garroth. Um the people you sent a letter to are here." I said.

"Ok um let's go." He said and we walked back to the station. That Jacob kid was staring at the weapons.

"This is Garroth, the head guard." I said and they looked over to us.
