Chapter 14

Louis' POV

"Maybe you should try the violent approach," Harry suggested as I paced. I froze, and spun around to stare at him. "You tell me to get on her good side but now you want me to throw some punches?" I exclaimed. "What is wrong with you?"

Harry rolled his eyes. "I didn't mean that kind of violent approach," he said. He got up and walked over to me. He rested his elbow on my shoulder, leaning against me, and winked at me. "I meant the violent approach," he smirked, wiggling his eyebrows.

My eyes widened. "What the hell?" I yelped, and pushed Harry away from me. "No way! That's disgusting, Haz! I shouldn't even bother taking advice from you anymore! It's... demeaning!"

Harry frowned and plonked down on the couch. He widened his eyes and made them all glassy. "I was only trying to help," he mumbled and hung his head.

I sighed and sat down next to him. I gave him a hug. "I know, I'm sorry," I murmured. "I'm just so frustrated right now."

"I know!" he chirped and jumped up, suddenly all cheery. I scowled. "I hate it when you do that," I muttered and rested my head back.

"How else am I supposed to get my boobear to hug me?" Harry asked, and I could literally hear the grin in his voice. I rolled my eyes, but didn't look up.

"Okay, so clearly that approach wouldn't work--" Harry began, but I interrupted. "You think?" I said, but he ignored me.

"So, what else have you got in mind?" Harry asked me, and sat on my lap. He was suffocating me, but I didn't push him off. I still stared at the ceiling, and I frowned.

"I could just leave her alone like she wants," I mused. Harry gasped, and he slapped my face lightly. "What are you saying?" he cried. "The Lou I know would never give up! You're stubborn."

"Persistent!" I shouted.

"Whatever! You will go back to her and apologize."

Harry pinched my cheeks and wiggled my face back and forth. I pushed his hands away. "Fine," I grunted. "Just get off me before you choke me to death."

"Oh, sorry," he said, and slid off me and onto the ground. I sat up and breathed. "You're not as light as you used to be," I told Harry.

"Offensive!" he declared.

"And I was lying," I smirked. "I'm not going back there." I took off before Harry could chase me. "Stop him!" I heard Harry yell, along with the stamping of feet behind me.

I quickly rushed into the bathroom and locked the door. I took off my socks and threw them in the hamper.

I heard pounding on the door. "Louis William Tomlinson!" Harry yelled. "Open the door this instant!"

I smirked. He sounded like my mother! Instead, I called back, "I don't think so. You're just going to have to break it down."

"Fine!"

Wow, Harry was actually going to do it. I put my hand on the doorknob and waited patiently.

"One, two, three!" Harry counted down, and two seconds later I opened the door. Harry flew past me and crashed into the bathtub. He groaned while I laughed. I ran out of there. "LOUEH!!" Harry yelled.

Strong hands grabbed my shoulders while I was in full sprint mode, and we tripped. "Get off!" I grunted to whoever was on top of me, and pushed him off. It was Liam.

"What's with all the yelling going on?" he demanded. "You're giving the boys and I headaches."

"Not my fault," I retorted. "Harry's doing all the yelling. I just want to give up."

I regretted the words as soon as they were out of my mouth. I could've worded that better. Liam's eyes widened, and we stood up. "What do you mean?" he asked softly.

Before I could tell him I meant give up on Renee, I heard Harry exclaim, "Liam! You got him for me! Thanks, mate!" He slammed into me, taking me down again.

"Harry!" I shouted and had to push him off, too. "What is with people and their sense of direction these days?"

"They're called Directioners!" Harry laughed, and it took me a second to catch on. I grinned. "Good one, Haz," I said, and stood up. Harry hugged my legs. He was weird like that.

"Louis says he wants to give up," Liam said sternly. I almost forgot he was there. "I know," Harry said. "But I won't let him. Louis will apologize."

Liam blinked. "Wait, what are we talking about?" he asked.

"Louis and Renee's accident thing. Why? What were you talking about?"

Liam face-palmed. "Never mind," he muttered. He looked at me seriously. "Was it your fault?"

"What?"

"The accident. The one you guys were talking about."

"Sort of...." I said slowly, not completely sure. "I didn't mean for it to happen--"

"That's why it's called an accident," Harry piped up. I slapped the top of his fluffy head. "Shut up," I told him.

I turned to Liam. "I've tried the normal apology approach, the get-on-her-good-side approach, and the I-don't-really-care-about-this-accident-but-I'm-apologizing-anyway-because-I'm-a-good-person approach," I said. "But nothing works!"

Liam looked clueless, like he had almost completely no idea what I was talking about.

"I've suggested the violent approach," Harry offered. "But Louis wouldn't do it."

"Because I'm not a pervert!" I hissed down at him. "Now I told you to shut up!" I slapped him again. He stood, scowling.

"I would suggest just leaving her alone," Liam said in his thinking voice. "But that would leave you on a bad note...."

I sighed and Harry smirked at me.

"Why don't you just... charm her, I guess?" Liam said, shrugging like that was all he got. I stared at him. "Charm Renee?" I clarified. "You've got to be kidding. She hates my guts! How am I supposed to 'charm' her?"

"The violent--" Harry started to say but I clamped a hand over his mouth. "I will snap you like a twig," I said solemnly. He licked my hand. I ignored it.

Liam shrugged again. "That's just my suggestion," he said. "Is she pretty?"

"I'm not answering that question," I scowled.

Harry pried my hand off with much difficulty. "She's hot," Harry said eagerly. I glared at him. "Seriously, like a twig," I threatened.

"Harry, why don't you go hang out with Niall for a bit?" Liam said quickly, making it sound more like an order than a suggestion, and pushed him away from me. Harry stuck his tongue out at me before leaving. I rolled my eyes.

"How many times have you apologized in how many days?" Liam asked. I thought about it. "Three for each," I said.

"All after the other?"

"Only two."

"Geez, give her some breathing room, Louis. You're a stalker."

"Why does everyone keep saying that?" I shouted, and Liam chuckled. "But just give her a day or two, then try again," he said. "What did she tell you?"

I grimaced. "She never said this out loud, but she obviously hates me," I recounted. "Because of me, her life is pretty much ruined. And she'll never forgive me, because she can't. That's the cold, hard truth. Her exact words."

Liam's eyebrows raised. "Well, she sounds cheery," he breathed, and I bit back my amused smile. "But don't worry, she'll forgive you. Like, you'll probably make her forgive you. You're like that, Louis."

He patted my shoulder before leaving.

I frowned to myself. Sheesh, how can people live with me? I sound like such a nuisance. No wonder Renee's annoyed by me. That still leaves me with one question: how the heck am I supposed to forgive her now?

Author's Note:

I think this is one of my worse chapters because I started writing this in the middle of the night. It's more of a filler chapter. It's also really short, and I like long chapters.

I was bored, and scared, and alone that night, so yeah. Writing was my solution.

Still, please vote, fan, and comment! I promise it'll get better soon!

Stay Beautiful,
