Sweet nightmares

Maria's P. O. V.

"Austin!! Tell Tyler to stop messing with me." I cried into Austin's arms. He was 13 years old at the time when I lived with him. He held me smiling then went over to his little brother to scold him. Stupid Tyler always messes with me. Marcy just sat at a window staring out of it. She was taking the lose of her parents..the whole pack hard. After we had collapsed in front of the pack house the guards and fighters ran to our pack. They found everyone dead. The elders, the children, even the alpha and Luna. The place reeked of rouges. They couldn't find Eric and suspected the rouges took him as prisoner or something like that. The alpha told us we could stay with his pack as long as we wanted but I could hear people whispering 'was it a good idea'. The rouges were after us after all and they feared for there pack. Also, having two alphas in a pack would cause havoc. I don't understand why they thought that though. Me and Austin were best of friends. Everywhere he went I followed thus the same for him. We were inseparable even with the five year age gap. Tyler and Marcy got along ok, but she was always so down. We tried to cheer her up so many times. I even hid how sad I was to make her feel better. She tries to cheer up as best she can..but most days are just like this. "Tyler what are you doing now?" I peeked from behind Austin as he stood over his brother. Tyler instantly saw me and glared. "I didn't do anything!" Austin looked at him narrowing his eyes a bit. Tyler struggled a bit and sighed. "Fine...I'm sorry..." I smiled big as the boys began talking about something. A game I think it was. I loved it here. I even like Tyler to a point. I hope Marcy does too.

Austin's P. O. V.

"I thought she was ok. How did this happen?" My voice was hoarse as I looked at my small mate. Laying in bed sweat covering her forehead. Somehow she got a high fever as we slept and it keeps progressing. "Michael please do something." She nodded and opened a small fridge taking out ice packs then slowly sat then under Maria's neck and back and one she wrapped in a towel and placed on her forehead. "This should cool her down for the meantime..she probably just needs rest alpha." I nodded and sat in a chair beside her. I was fully healed by this morning but she still hadn't woken up. I figured it was from lack of sleeping but I noticed her mumbling and moving her head left and right as if she was having a nightmare. Now she's sick and I can't help her. Again....I can't help the girl I love. So many years back I tried to help someone and failed miserably now again with my mate. Slowly I took her hand in mine and kissed it. "Please...get better Maria."

Maria's P. O. V.

Hands came up behind me covering my eyes. I smiled recognizing the scent oh so well. "Guess who's birthday is today." I felt something drop into my lap and smiled bigger. "It's mine Austin." Giggling I looked up as he moved his hands away from my eyes. He smiled big and patted my head. "Happy birthday!" He motioned toward the box in my lap and I eagerly opened it. It had a small card in it reading.

A bright blush rose on my cheeks as I read it slowly I looked in the box and saw a sparkling crystal ring with small diamonds in it. It shinned so beautifully in the light and the stones casted a rainbow if you held it right. I quickly put it on then tackled my friend in a bear hug. Of course since I was still so small it barely felt like it should've. He laughed and hugged me back. "I'm guessing you like it?" That was stupid. I pulled back and looked him in the eyes. "I actually don't like it." His smiled dropped almost instantly. "I LOVE IT!" I squealed and hugged him tight. He laughed a bit his smile returning. I quickly got up and ran to find Marcy, who was once again with my friend-enemy. They were playing when I walked in and she jumped up smiling wide. "Maria look at what Tyler gave me!" She showed me a cute crystal necklace with a heart on the edge of it. The heart held a beautiful ruby in it. I smiled looking at it as it shined in the light. "It's beautiful! Look at what Austin gave me." She smiled admiring my ring. "Wow..it's gorgeous." Tyler was just sitting there a blush lightly crossing his cheeks. "Our mom said we should give them to you is all. To cheer you both up." Marcy smiled and hugged him tight. He tried to push her off at first but she clung on and wouldn't let go till the hug was given back. Times like these are what I miss most. When we didn't have to worry and be scared everyday. Where we wouldn't have to train every moment and be as carefree as we were right now. I miss it so much.
