Maria's P.O.V

I woke up hearing faint sounds of growling and laughing. "Ethan! Just let us go!" I heard Austin's strained voice. "Aus...tin..?" I was still droggy as I tried to move quickly learning I was reframed. "Maria are you ok?" I heard his worry but pain in his voice. He sounded as if he was getting weak. I looked and saw the reason. He was chained down in sliver. I made a small growl at this. "Austin hold on..I'll get us out." I started moving around then suddenly felt a sharp pain in my gut. I hunched over coughing. "You're not going anywhere until Eric gets back." I shot up and stared Ethan down fear evident on my face. "E-Eric..? H-he's here?!" I began to get frantic. "He went out but will be back soon." He smirked and walked away as I stared at noting frozen in fear. "Maria? Maria snap out of it!" I slowly looked to Austin as he weakly called to me. "Don't worry...I'll protect my mate no matter what." His words made me feel safer knowing him he really would die before he lets me get hurt. I relaxed and nodded. "Oh shut up! You're too weak to even protect yourself." Ethan then started kicking and punching Austin. Austin ,being weakened and chained by the metal, couldn't fight back or heal his wounds. Ethan was relentlessly pounding away at him. Austin was slowly losing consciousness and a lot of blood. 'Austin..he's getting hurt. It's all my fault again. M-my mate is going to die because of me.' "My mate." I flinched hearing my wolfs voice. "I'm going to murder that son of a bitch." She growled taking control. I simply let her and she broke the chains off us. Ethan turned shocked to see us standing. "Mine!" I growled changing into my wolf mid word and pouncing on him making him fall back. He tried to hold me at bay as I snapped and lashed out at him face. He kicked me back and sat up blood dripping from his cheeks. He looked so stunned that I had gotten out of the chains and Austin did as well. I took this as an opportunity to lash at him again. Grabbing him by the legs, I heard a loud crunch sound and blood. He hissed in pain and kicked me in the face with his good leg. I didn't budge this time and just went to biting and tearing at him. "Maria...enough." I heard the soft pained voice of my mate and whimpered shifting back. Quickly and quietly I broke the chains around him feeling no pain at all. He stared at me puzzled and I shook my head. "I'll explain later." I whispered to him. I turned back hearing a soft groan and saw Ethan still breathing but barely. I picked the chains up with an cruel look on my face. Quickly I tied him with it and stuffed some in his mouth. "Leave a message for that bastard too." My wolf took over writing on the wall in his blood. Quickly I shifted back into a wolf and gently picked Austin's up. His breathing was harsh and his eyes weren't open. 'Austin hang on!' I think darting back in the direction of the pack house.

Ariana P.O.V

"It's been an whole day since Austin left." I say quietly sitting next to Tyler. He looks at me and smiles reassuringly. "Don't worry he'll bring her back." Suddenly I jumped as the big white wolf bursts through the doors on a panic. All the pack members ran down to see what the commotion was. "Maria?" I walk up to her and she whimpers sitting Austin down. "Someone go get the doctor!" I hear Tyler yell behind me and some feet running off. "What happened?" I look at her an she's shaking her head whimpering and nudging Austin. I start to get angry at this point. "Maria shift back!" I yell with so much authority the rest stare at me. A beta should never order their alpha. But she's not my alpha anymore.
Maria had shifted back an someone was giving her a towel. She had tears going down her cheeks as she stared at Austin. "H-h-he..." She choked out. "He came to get me back and Ethan..tranquilized us and chained us up with sliver." I looked down and saw that Austin still had the cuffs on him. In her panic she must not have noticed them. Quickly I yanked them off and held them staring down seeing Austin start to breath normally again. Maria sighed and started to relax holding him in her arms. "Please be ok." She whispered smoothing his hair. "Maria.." I whisper and she looks up but doesn't make eye contact. "What is it?" She asks quietly. I bite my lip and walk over to her standing above her. She looks up once more and I slap her. "That's for abandoning me." I say in a dead voice as she sits there stunned. "I'm...sorry..." He whispered out as Michael walked in. "Michael he had a lot of silver on him and lost a lot of blood." She nods and puts him on a stretcher taking him to the hospital room. "Maria what about you?" She asks then looks at the silver in my hands and gasps. "Oh..me and Maria are immune to silver." I calming say to her twisting it in my hands while Maria stays quite holding Austin's hand. "In our old pack it was mandatory for the beta and alpha to train their bodies to be immune to it in case of an attack." I try to explain. She stares in wonder as I grip the metal to my skin. "It doesn't effect you at all?" She asks worried. "It burns after awhile but not right now." She nods and we race to the emergency room.

Eric's P.O.V

I stand there in the middle of a bloody pool reading the message over and over again. I look down at my companion and shake my head. "She really did a number on you huh Ethan?" Nudging him slightly with my foot his dead body topples over. I look back at the message. It reads: If you ever come near my mate again you'll be sorry. I can't help but laugh. "She called him her mate!" My wolf growls in my mind. "Don't worry. She belongs to us. And I get her back no matter what."
