Samantha's POV

My heart is racing. The only thing registering is that Derek's lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to his chest.

Christina grabs Meredith and me, dragging us back to the supply room. "I'm going back, Christina! Derek could still be alive!" Meredith wails, tears forming in her eyes. "No. The shooter could still be out there. I'm not going to let you get yourself killed," Christina shouts, blocking the door. "I'm going, Christina!" Meredith has a waterfall of tears falling down her face. "Then you'll have to go through me," Next thing I know, Meredith throws Christina into the supply rack before running out the door.

"Christina! Are you okay?" I kneel, checking for any injuries.

"I'm fine. Let's find Mer," She says as she grabs my good arm that is extended to help her up. Following her, I feel my leg starting to cramp up from walking on it all day. I see Meredith leaning over Derek, a pool of blood surrounding them as she tries to stop the bleeding. "W-We called the police Mer...M-Mer," I tremble, the scene before me horrific. "W-What do we do? What do we do? Derek needs surgery," Christina stutters, running her hands through her hair before running past Meredith, Derek, and me through the double doors. "Derek wake up! Wake up! You need to stay alive!" Meredith yells at Derek, his eyes opening back up just a bit. Christina comes rushing back with a wheelchair, April following behind her. All of us helped to lift Derek into the wheelchair before going to an O.R.

"Okay, you and April prep Derek, and Sammie and I are going to find Teddy," Christina orders. Meredith nods her head silently when Christina and I leave.

Holding onto Christina with my good arm, we walk through the halls of the O.R. rooms, the halls seeming eerily quiet. "It's too quiet down here..." Christina voices my thoughts, my heart hammering in my chest. "He's down here...he has to be," I say cautiously as I look at our surroundings.

"No, he's not," Christina whispers as we creep down the hall. "Yes, he is. It's like a horror movie, and we're the dumb blondes who head in the direction of the killer and then we die," I ramble frighteningly, "he's going to find us, he's going to shoot us," I continue to ramble. "Alright that's enough...your freaking me out," Christina states sternly but quietly, letting go of my arm to grip me by the shoulders. "I don't have time to be freaked out okay? Derek is a mess, Mer is a mess, you are a mess...and I am in charge. And I say that no one is down here," She tells me before an O.R. door opens scaring Christina and me. We drop to the floor, covering our heads, " Don't shoot!" I yell, tears forming in my eyes thinking that it's the shooter. "You're not supposed to be walking around," A familiar voice says from above me. "Dammit Jackson," Christina curses as she stands up. "Is that your blood? Are you okay?" He asks her before noticing that I was the one on the ground.

"Sammie?" He breathes, moving past Christina, and kneeling next to me. "You okay?" I question as I look up at him, my bottom lip trembling. "Yeah I'm fine...but are you okay? Your face," He says helping me off the ground before pulling me into a hug.

"Sorry to break this up but I need Altman or Hunt," Christina tells Jackson who goes to move but I cling to him for dear life, my head resting on his chest.

"They left," He tells her, pulling me a bit closer into his chest.

"They left?! Well someone just shot Derek. He's got a GSW to the chest and he needs surgery right now! Tell me there is an attending on this floor?!" Christina rushes out, her voice sounding worried. "Sammie in the O.R. behind me there is an anesthesiologist and four attending nurses," He pulls away from me slightly, looking down at me. Nodding wordlessly, I let go of Jackson completely, moving to go into the O.R., "Tell them to set up for a cardiac procedure." His eyes are on Christina.
