Three days.
Hinata ran shaky fingers through her soaked bangs, ignoring the random wisps of hair that clung to the rest of her face. Her entire body was covered in a layer of cold sweat. Her pale skin felt clammy and her head was pounding.
Three fucking days.
She clenched and unclenched her fists in anger, ignoring the sharp pains she felt in her now swollen wrist. Her breathing was labored and she could literally feel her blood boil.
"That sick fucking bastard. How dare he," She growled to herself.
Three long days of what felt like hell and back. Her family, her friends, her sister. All of them falling before her very eyes. Over and over like some broken, played out record. The mere thought caused Hinata to shudder uncontrollably.
The Uchiha made sure that she suffered. A single day felt like several years. She felt as though she'd burned with them. His genjutsu was indeed powerful, and she made a mental note to never anger him again.
She snorted humorlessly at the thought. Highly unlikely.
"Damn him," She grumbled. There couldn't be a next time. She knew she needed to get out and soon. If she stayed any longer, there's no telling what could happen.
Her thoughts briefly traveled to her interrupted mission. She was given the task of gathering as much intel on neighboring villages as she could. It was meant to last a few months, so she knew no one would come searching for her. Not for a while, anyway.
A grave smile made its way onto her face as she felt a small pang of defeat deep in her gut. "How are you going to get yourself out of this mess, Hyuuga?"
Just as those words escaped her lips, she heard keys scrambling to unlock her cell door. Her shoulders tensed as she awaited her unexpected visitor.
Let it be him, let it be him.
Although she knew it'd be futile, seeing as though she's in a very vulnerable position, she was eager to give the man a piece of her mind.
She tapped her fingers against her thigh as her breath hitched in her throat.
Let it be him...
As the door swung open, her shoulders fell.
"I don't know why Sasuke insists on feeding you. He should just let you starve," The redhead snarled.
Even though Hinata was still disappointed, she let a small smirk crack her features. If there was one thing that she learned while being an Anbu, it was getting information out of people without their knowing. It was so simple. People get too cocky when they think they've won. They become too talkative and end up giving away vital information.
She swallowed her chuckle. Probing without them knowing. It was one of her favorite things to do.
Let the games begin.
Hinata cocked her head to the side and matched Karin's icy glare. "Then why'd you bring it," She spat.
A sardonic smile made its way onto Karin's face as she held Hinata's gaze. "Oh, we've got to keep you alive. Sasuke had big plans for you, even if you refuse to speak."
Hinata bit the inside of her cheek so hard she swear she could taste blood. She knew Karin was referring to her Byakugan. What else could it be? Everyone who knew of the Byakugan knew it held precious secrets. Hell, she was kidnapped as a child because of it! If she refused to speak, her eyes would be on the line. And more importantly—
...the village's safety will be on the line.
Whether she chose to speak or not, the place and the people she vowed to protect were at stake.
Hinata's eyes flickered to the tray in the redhead's hands. She felt a faint ache in her stomach. She refrained herself from grabbing it.
"Big plans?" She asked, feigning confusion.
Karin's smile twisted into a sadistic smirk as she dropped the tray in front of the Hyuuga girl, causing the cold rice and tea to go flying in various directions.
"You'd better eat up," She spoke in a sickeningly sweet voice. "Who knows when I'll be coming back?"
And with that Karin left the room.
"What a witch," Hinata chuckled quietly. A devious smile crawled onto her face. Picking up the bowl, she ate what little rice was left.
She stared at the faint marks and tiny cuts on her wrists, thankful that they'd removed her chains while she was out of it.
One less obstacle.
As she chewed, she thought of her plan of escape. It was a risky one, yet that was her profession. She was all about taking risks, nothing less.
Her tongue played with the blade she kept hidden at the roof of her mouth.
Nothing less.
