What Happened?

    Last thing Sam remembered was riding in the passenger seat of Austin's car on the way to school. She slowly prided her eyes open to see the ceiling of a hospital above her. "W-what happened..?" She croaked. She couldn't move her arm up to rub her eyes and instinctively looked down at it. Her arm was in a bright blue cast and it hurt to move. She soon realized what had happened and screamed, "Austin!! Austin where are you?!" "Right here, Sam.. I'm right here.." His voice had come from the other side of the room. Sam looked over to see her best friend in a hospital bed beside her. His left leg and right arm were in casts. "What happened, Austin?" He stayed silent, but she kept pushing. "Austin." "Th-the car came out of nowhere. I hit the breaks but it was too late. They rammed directly into us.." He sighed and looked over at her. "I tried to shake you awake but you wouldn't wake up.. I heard the sirens of an ambulance before everything went black," he said with a sigh. Sam wished she could hug him and tell him how happy she was that he was okay, but she knew that there was no use in trying. Even if she could get up, she didn't want to risk hurting him. "I love you," she said, dosing back to sleep. "I love you too." was the last thing she heard before falling into a deep sleep.
