~Sam's POV~
It's been about a week since the kiss with Austin and I haven't really thought about it much. I can tell something's bothering him because he's not acting the same. I'll admit, I felt something during that kiss, but I'm not going to embrace it! That's my best friend for crying out loud!
I heard something hit my window making me jump. What could've been outside at half past midnight? I climbed out of bed and cautiously walked over to my window. I slid it open and poked my head out looking around. "About time. I was starting to believe you were asleep." I smiled and looked down to see Austin throwing rocks at my window. "Really now? I couldn't imagine why is be asleep at 12:30." I smirked at my sarcasm which only made him chuckle. "So you gonna let me in? Or what?" I rushed downstairs as quietly as I could and opened the door. He casually walked in and slipped his jacket off. I ran up behind him and hugged him tightly. He smiled down at me and pried me off. "Let's go up to your room. Wouldn't want to wake anyone up." And with that, he lead the way. I shut the door and we climbed in bed like usual. I lay cuddled up to him with his arms tight around me, listening to his steady heartbeat. "Sam.." Austin whispered softly, breaking the silence. I hummed in response, showing I was listening. "We really need to talk about last week.." He sounded nervous. "How about we talk in the morning, yeah?" I asked softly. I felt him nod, and we both lay there, holding tight to the other we knew was awake. Finally, I heard Austin's deep, even breaths and knew he was asleep. I took that as my cue and slowly fell asleep in the arms I knew would protect me.
