                  ~Austin's POV~
I woke up to the sun shining down in my face and looked down at Sam cuddled up in my arms. Today I have to tell her how I feel.. I have to explain that I felt something in that kiss we shared. I looked over at the clock and had to do a double take. It was almost 1pm! I rubbed my eyes and gently shook Sam awake. She blinked a few times before smiling up at me. "Good morning," I said softly and placed a kiss on her forehead. "Morning," she replied, stretching. We both climbed out of bed and made our way to the kitchen. No one was home since Sam's mother had work. "Pancakes?" I asked with a smile, taking out the ingredients. "Only if I can help!" She joyfully got a bowl and spoon out and began mixing ingredients together. We made a good team, me handing her what she needed while she stirred the batter. I turned on the stove and got out a skillet, pouring some of the mixture in. As I flipped out pancakes, Sam ran behind me with plates trying to catch them. I smirked to myself and flipped one out, chuckling when I heard her squeal. "So not funny!" She hit my back playfully and I turned to her, laughing at the pancake on her head. "I'd say you're right! It's not funny; it's hilarious!" I laughed while she pouted. She looks so cute, I thought to myself. We got our pancakes and say at the table savoring every bite we took. Once we both finished, I stopped Sam from getting up. "Can we talk now..?" I asked shyly. She nodded and sat, listening intently. "Sam.. I don't know if you felt anything during that kiss... But I did.. I know you probably don't want to hear this but here it goes.. Samantha I like you. I've always liked you and-" I would've continued but she cut me off. "Aust, I know you like me. I felt something too but I'd prefer not to ruin our friendship.. Please understand.." I looked up at her sadly and nodded. I understood but I couldn't help but be upset. She must've noticed because she was holding my hand tightly and leaned over to kiss my cheek. "Maybe... Maybe one day.. Okay?" She asked. "Okay.." I sighed, getting up and went to wash the dishes. It was a pretty normal day after that. We just hung out and watched movies like usual, only I sat zoned out most of the time thinking. What an idiot...
