"You haven't changed...and my name isn't Nimrod."

I sigh heavily as Adder walks into the clearing while Cidda readies her throwing knives. "Nydiragord, who is he? And what's with his ridiculous nickname for you?" Cidda glances at me, looking for an answer. I motion for her to lower the weapons before answering her, "This is Adder. A prideful little shit that thinks he's so great. He also claims me as his rival for some reason."

Adder walks closer before trying to punch me in the face, which I barely dodge, before he spits out venomously, "I AM better than you Nimrod! And YOU want to be my rival because I'm so great." I can't help but laugh. "Adder...I don't want to be ANYTHING of yours."

Cidda giggles at my statement of defense before bursting out into full blown laughter. "Nydiragord..." she barely manages to say between her laughter, "this guy is the real Nimrod." Adder turns a deep red as I, as well, burst out into laughter with Cidda. "SHUT UP!" In a fit of embarrassment and anger, Adder takes a swing at my head with his bow.

I have a stupid look on my face as the bow makes contact with my head. I see Cidda in complete shock as I fall on my knees before landing on my side. I look around and notice a few black spots before feeling bruises being made. Adder stands above me, kicking, stomping, and screaming things I can't really make out.

I hear Cidda faintly screaming at him to stop which makes me smile a little. I'm glad she is trying to help but I know Adder. He's not going to stop his tantrum until he is tired. I feel his boot ram into my gut and chest in between feeling the heel of the boot on my face and arm.

Both of their voices fade as I slowly blackout before waking up on a bed of vines. My blood runs cold as I feel my injuries fade. A feeling of dread takes over as I look to my right. "YOU'RE AWAKE!" I sit up quickly and scream before clambering off the vines, backing away slowly on my arms. Her putrid laugh splits the air which makes me whole body shudder. "Silly Nydira! It's only me, Alilawen!"

My heart sinks so much so I'm afraid I might lose it if I had to use the bathroom. I turn ghost pale before shaking "A-A-Alilawen..." A loud booming laugh forces its way into the air. "Yes. Alilawen is her name and mine is Rhaw! Pleasure to meet you!" I look at the man and examine him. Unlike Adder, Rhaw is built with defining lines on his face but somehow gives off a friendly feeling.

"I'm Nydiragord..." I barely manage to get out. Alilawen looks at me before laughing again saying, "Rhaw! You must've scared him really bad! He looks like a ghost." He laughs with her and I look to my side, noticing Cidda. She looks at me with soft eyes before speaking. "Hey...are you alright? I'm sorry Nydiragord." She starts to tear up before I greet her with a warm smile. "I'm fine Cidda. But why's she here?" I point to Alilawen who's still laughing with Rhaw.

She dabs at her eyes before speaking, "They are the chosen champions of their kingdoms. Not too much we can do about that..." She looks displeased with it but I AM completely livid and repulsed by this. I shake away my memories and thoughts before looking at Cidda. "Where's Adder?" I ask before regretting it. "Worried about me Nimrod? You should be. After all I am better then you." Adder says from behind me, sitting on a small boulder.

He never shuts up about how 'oh so amazing' he is. In actuality he's just a commoner like the rest of us. I slowly stand up before being tackled back to the ground. "Nydira! You need to rest!" I look at the small girl in confusion before remembering who she is. "Get off me! I'm fine!" I shove Alilawen off before Rhaw picks me up by the back of my jerkin, his tone sharpening into a serious one. "Don't hurt the Maiden. She tended to your injuries. Show respect to her."

Adder helps Alilawen to her feet before doing his usual routine, "Mistress I'm sorry for Nimrod's behavior. He's just in a bad mood because I'm better then him." Alilawen blinks with a blank expression before laughing loudly.

"Nydira didn't hurt me. Besides I love being hurt." Her expression falters into a grim, lustful smile to which I respond with a shudder. Rhaw stands in shock before dropping me from his grip, "Well...never mind!" His smile creeps back on his face while I brush myself off.

Adder seems unaffected by her masochistic personality; as they keep talking Rhaw and Cidda pull me to the side before asking at the same time, "Who are they and how do you know them?!"
