"Nydiragord..."

I was at a loss of words as I continued to watch the tears run down her cheeks. In mere seconds, like it was second nature, my arms wrapped around Cidda tightly as she spoke. "Nydiragord...I can't do this" she said, trembling with fear and in response i hugged her tighter.

"Cidda. We are a party. We stand and fight together. Got it? Now let's go save the weirdos." She looks at me and wipes her tears before nodding firmly. "You're right. This isn't like back there...we are a party that stands and fights together..."

I was confused for a moment before I pushed my thoughts away. I nodded and gently grabbed her wrist, pulling her down the path where Adder and Alilawen went down. Rhaw went ahead and the sounds of battle grew louder with each step. Rhaw's claymore clashing against a shield, Adder's bow string being furiously pulled back multiple times, and Alilawen's unnecessarily loud druidic chants.

I don't know what scared me more, Alilawens' twisted smile at the gashes on her body or the monsters that inflicted them. Adder was continuing to send a volley of arrows down on the monsters around him perched in a tree while Rhaw mercilessly cut down anything in his way with a blank expression.

Cidda drew two daggers hesitantly before looking at me with sad eyes. I looked into her eyes with a small smile on my face before raising two fingers and firing a condensed beam of magic through a creatures' head. Her eyes widened as she stared at me. "What? It's either me or them plus I have something to protect now."

I smile widely as her expression turns into one of confusion. "What do yo-"
I cut her off with a finger pushed against her lips. "Shh", I said and left her side to join the battle, collecting condensed magic in my fingers while drawing a short sword from the sheath on my hip.

I cut down a few creatures and shot magic through others. Alilawen impaled every creature that came near with sharpened roots, smiling and bloody as if this was a stroll through a castle garden. I shuddered and looked to Rhaw, who I could tell was contemplating lobbing off Alilawen's head.

He glanced at me and I just shook my head no. Adder was messing with his hair attempting to fix it but only ended up making it worse. He growls on frustration and I smile before turning to Cidda.

She has a blank expression as she walks towards me. "Cidd-" she walked past me and kept going. "Let's go everyone. We have ground to cover." I stood silently as she spoke realizing that Cidda wasn't very open. It was hard for her to make friends and trust but why? I turn and look at her...

What happened to you?

"Yes we do! Now shall we get going? We have to travel to Yaema, the port town."

I heard Adder groan and Rhaw gasped as if he found a crown jewel. If you don't hold a certain authority in the Warriors' kingdom, you don't leave the gates. "I've been told about the sea! I've always wanted to visit it! I can't wait...it's a childhood dream come true." I couldn't tell if Rhaw was excited about the sea or wanted to cry about it.

Adder chimed in "The sea smells. And Yaema is a poor town that just fishes! It's a dangerous place with people called Berserkers that come from foreign countries over the sea!" Alilawen just laughed, clueless as ever.

"It is filled with Berserkers but Yaema is how we're going to get to the island known as Three Pillar Island." Cidda just listened and I couldn't help but feel sad and lonely. I lost the only companion I wanted to talk to.
