maisy held her jacket tighter. she couldn't take the looks people were giving to her as she passed through the halls of Wilders High School. she was certain that people were glaring at her. or maybe because she was having anxiety over the fact that she was new in the building and looking at the people, she wasn't feeling welcomed at all.

or over thinking could be another cause. if only her mom wasn't stationed at Sydney then she would've been able to enjoy the last two years of her high school life back in Perth. her mom was a businesswoman and she had to drag (yes, maisy would like to say that since her mom literally drags her and her family around since she doesn't want to be left alone working) them to Sydney with her. she was told by her mother that they may be living in Sydney for at least 3 years. she didn't want to be left behind and stay with her grandparents seeing as her grandmother hated the way that maisy was too "introverted". she accepted the fact that she does like to keep things to herself and doesn't open up that much since she's afraid to trust people so easily.

as she approached the principal's office, where she would get her schedule and have a small tour around school, she suddenly bumped into someone causing her to fall onto the floor. luckily, she didn't hit her head on the floor.

"ouch," she muttered, bowing down her head seeing as she didn't want to see the mess she created.

"you should watch where you're looking at next time." an unfamiliar voice said.
maisy didn't know if the voice was being sarcastic or if she was making fun of her but she did know that it was a voice of a guy. she couldn't help but look up, seeing as she was still on the floor with her head crouched low.

she found herself looking at a tall and lanky figure who had messy blonde hair and had a lip ring around the left side of his lower lip. she had no idea how the school accepted lip rings seeing as there were rules to be followed. he was wearing a black shirt and wore pants that were tighter than what maisy would wear everyday and a pair of all-black Converse. he's cute though, she mentally thought.

"uh—i—i'm sorry. it won't happen again," she quickly scrambled up to her feet and opened the door to the principal's office.

"hey, wait," the guy said again, reaching into her shoulder. maisy tensed. she wasn't used to someone, much less a stranger, touching or holding on to her. maisy turned around so she could properly see the boy again.

"uh, yeah?"

The boy smiled. "it's fine. I'm sorry for that too. you new here?" he said gesturing to what happened a few minutes ago.

"yeah."

"oh, nice. enjoy your little tour." he laughed a little. anyways, i have to run. see you around... girl."

"uhm, see you around." maisy mumbled as she opened the door to the principal's office.

"finally! There you are, young lady!" maisy looked at the principal. and there stood a bald, small man and was up until her neck.

"hello mr...."

"maisy, dear," he said. "i see you didn't get lost trying to find your way to my office, aye?"

maisy shook her head. "i looked at the school map outside the doors before entering, mr. dal."

mr. dal smiled. "oh, i see. i will introduce you to my assistant and he'll give you a little tour around the school. your schedule's with him too, don't worry."

"thank you, sir."

"no problem, dear. i hope you'll enjoy your first year here," he said, guiding maisy to another room which was where his assistant was stationed at.

"ashton, my boy! here is the new student, maisy. kindly tour her around school, tell her all the places and classrooms and explain things if she doesn't get them, alright?"

ashton was a dimpled brown eyed boy. his hair was dirty blonde, he had tan skin, and a more muscular stature as compared to the first boy she had come across. he wore a maroon sweater, black pants and white Vans. maisy gave him an awkward smile which he didn't seem to notice and instead, smiled bigger.

"of course, mr. dal! after all, that is my job," he said and stood up on his chair.

mr. dal laughed heartily. "such a funny lad! anyways, i'll leave you two seeing as I have loads of work to do. goodluck, maisy, dear." mr. dal exited the room, leaving maisy with ashton.

"so as mr. Dal introduced, i'm ashton and welcome to Wilders High School!"

"erhm, thanks,"

"you can call me ash for short." he smiled once again. maisy noticed ashton was a very positive boy based on the amount of times he's smiled in the time frame she's known him.

"nice."

he smiled again. "alright! Let's start the tour shall we?"
