Sam's POV

Ok, that was probably the stupidest thing I had ever done in my life, and I've done a lot of stupid things in my life.

We ran.

Seriously.

We just turned and ran, because none of us had any idea what to do at that point.

We heard Ms. Alina yell, "Detention! All of you!", but we didn't really register the meaning of the words.

We reached the washroom, and entered a stall that had always been locked, with our trusty pin. There were a series of wooden rods, each about a foot long, hammered onto the wall, all the way to the ceiling.

Wordlessly, I started climbing he rods until I reached the topmost rod. I felt around for the loose tile in the ceiling, and pushing it aside, climbed into the abandoned AC duct, that went all over the school.

The others followed me, and for some moments there was silence.

Then, Grace said, "Now what do we do?"

"I say we ditch the rest of the day," Rachel said.

"I'm all for chucking the rest of the day too", Anna said.

"But we could get into trouble," Grace said.

Everyone laughed at this.

"Awwww, is little Grace scared of getting into trouble? Aren't we already in trouble?" Rachel asked.

"Shut up," Grace said, "And we could get suspended."

"Meh," I said, "That's not a problem. I doubt any of them have the guts to suspend us. Its gonna look like they can't handle us, which they can't, but they really wouldn't want anyone to know that, right? Where do we spend the rest of the day?" I asked in one breath.

"We could always go to our trusty hangout", Anna suggested.

We agreed, because we were too tired to argue, or think of anything else. Of course, we could stay here, but we didn't know when it would decide to give way, and get us into still more trouble.

We crawled along the narrow passages. We knew them well as we used these AC ducts to move around the school more than we used the actual school hallways.

After we reached the roof, there wasn't much to do, so I decided to take a nap.

*~*~*~*

I was rudely awoken by the sound of the ringing bell. I rubbed my eyes. Rachel, Anna and Grace had fallen asleep too, and were now waking up.

"Time to go home!", I said, trying to sound as upbeat as possible.

We left the roof by the janitor's stairs, got our backpacks from the class, and headed to the busses.

"Sam, don't forget to call me today. I have something important to tell you, k?", Grace said.

I nodded. I was in no mood to talk now, and I hated talking on the phone because you can't see the person talking to you, and you can't see if they're angry or sad or whatever, but I was willing to make an exception for Grace. I would call her—if I remembered to.

I walked to the bus, and sat down behind my classmate, Nicole.

She turned to face me, "So, did you see HIM today?"

I tried to act innocent, as if I didn't know what she was talking about.

"Who, 'him'?"

"Oh, don't you try that with ME," she said. "And I wanna know where you were the whole day."

"Nowhere special", I attempted, in a bid to avoid both questions.

Just then, a group of boys entered the bus.

"There he is!!!!!!!!!", she exclaimed, loud enough for the whole bus to hear. "Kyle."

And indeed, it was. Kyle Morrison, super hot soccer player, don't care about marks bad boy, general heartthrob, basically, he sort of person you can't blame anyone for falling in love with, much less me. I'm not even weak hearted.

I was kind of hanging around the seat to talk to Nicole.

He started running up the narrow aisle of the bus, and I didn't have enough time to withdraw back into the safety of the seat.

He ran straight into me, pushing me onto the ground. I just lay there, because I didn't know what to do with my life anymore, when I felt a pair of hands lifting me off the ground.

"Hey, I'm Kyle. You're Sam, right? I'm sorry I ran into you like that. Are you injured?"

"N-No, I'm not injured, thanks. And yes, I am Sam."

Hey! Sorry for not updating for, like, forever. I was caught up in some important activities so I couldn't leave that.

I will not be asking for constructive criticism in this chapter, because it sounds stupid, but you know what I mean anyway. Right? Right.

K bye!
