Hey, y'all. I've decided to write the authors note at the beginning of the chapter simply because I can, and I want to. Just wanted to inform you guys that I'm changing the name of the story from 'I solemnly swear that I am up to no good' to 'Escapade' because the original quote is one from Harry Potter, and if I use that, the story won't be wholly mine.
Hoping the name is to your liking,
AnnabethJackson6801
P.S. This is my longest chapter yet.
Chapter 5— An Unexpected Incident (Or Maybe More Than One)
Sam's POV
Needless to say, I was very happy about THAT encounter. It probably didn't mean much, but at least that meant that he knew I existed.
Over the next few days, life was distressingly uneventful, and I actually completed my maths homework for the first time all year.
I didn't want to bunk maths because I had put actual effort into doing that homework, but the next class was biology, and I couldn't resist going for a stroll around the school.
Also, I didn't want to go alone, so I wrote Rachel, Anna, and Grace a note.
Hey, you guys. Shall we ditch biology today? Life has been distressingly uneventful lately. –S
Lol, distressingly uneventful? I'm in of course. –A
I think I'll stay here. I really want to get good marks this term. –R
Suit yourself, Rach. I'm coming, Sam. –G
Note to all: DO NOT USE REAL NAMES HERE. IF THIS PAPER IS FOUND, WE WILL BE IN BIG TROUBLE. –S
*~*~*~*~*
Malcolm's POV
I couldn't stop thinking about her. Grace. We had been friends through grades 1-4, but then we had just drifted apart. But I never forgot about her. She probably had forgotten about me long ago. I am the living proof of unrequited love. Today, I was thinking about her more than usual, so I called my best mates Kyle and Gayle, and we decided to bunk physics. Not that they knew the real reason I wanted to get out of class.
We were walking aimlessly around the school, when we heard sounds coming from an empty classroom. We figured it was some random people hooking up, so naturally Gayle wanted to take a video of it.
We slowly crept forward. The door was half open. I peeked inside. Nothing in the world could prepare me for what I saw. Nothing at all. Inside the room, were Ms. Bright, and a random dude. And they were kissing. NOTHING in this world is more disgusting than seeing your teacher, who is probably more than 40 years kiss. Gayle had already begun recording, and the three of us exchanged a look. We would talk about this later. After we had something to hold over Ms. Bright's head.
Just then, we heard footsteps coming around the corner. We froze. And then, from around the bend, came Grace, Sam, and Anna. We had all been in the same class in primary. I pinched myself to see if I was dreaming. I was not. Now we really didn't know what to do. Sam raised her eyebrows at us, as if to ask what the hell was going on. I beckoned them forward, and pointed towards the room. I'd always remembered Sam as the tough one, the badass. Not really my type. More like Kyle's. And Gayle was forever talking about Anna. None of us was prepared for this. My hair was not even gelled today. This was like some kind of cruel play of fate.
I hadn't talked to the girls in nearly 2 years, so I had no idea how they reacted. Today was probably the day I've had the most shocks on. It's surprising I didn't have a heart attack. Instead of freaking out, Sam calmly whipped out her phone, and started taking a video of the two people in the room, who were kissing, blissfully unaware of the happenings of the world, and Anna went to keep watch at the corridor. We hadn't thought of that. These girls were seasoned. After about 4 minutes and thirty-seven seconds of kissing, we got bored. All through these 4:37 minutes, Kyle had been staring at Sam, and Gayle had been staring at Anna, and there had been awkward eye contact which had been quickly broken, and the staring had begun again. As for me, I simply could not take my eyes of Grace. This could either be the best day of my life, or the worst.
Anyway, a silent understanding came to pass amongst us, and we slowly stepped away from the room. And then we ran. All the way up the hallway, until we reached an empty classroom.
We all waited a few moments to catch our breath. Then Kyle said, "Hey y'all. We haven't seen each other in ages."
"Yeah", Sam said. "There's never been time."
"So", I said, "Maybe we should, you know, get to know each other a little. Like what's been going on in your lives for the past two years and three days." Wow, way to go Malcolm. That was totally a cool thing to say in front of your crush, I thought, now you've officially ruined any chance of getting her to like you.
"I call for a game of truth and dare. It's the best way to catch up."
There were sounds of approval from everyone, though no one said anything, or made eye contact.
So truth and dare it was going to be, then.

Escapade.
AdventureSam, Rachel, and Grace are rebels. They do not listen to teachers. They do not follow school rules. They do exactly as they want to. And they are enjoying their life, unlike their peers who are "good". But who really defines 'good' and 'bad' anyway...
